Mafia June 2020 Mafia Game Thread [DAY 2 ENDS AT 6/20 5PM PST]

Being mafia is very stressful, it makes you do lots of calculated, very controlled way of doing things. Being town, espeically in early phases, you can go to "town' literally and do say stuff just because. I see some of the actions of the players as just that and not because they are scum
 
Most likely anyone who reads my past 5-6 posts will see me reiterating something that doesn't seem like a big deal, so to word it in a different perspective.

Ness is acting EXACTLY like what you would expect mafia to act like. Take my perspective where you know you're town, and a lot of people have a read on you that is relatively unsure, as mafia the best thing you can do is push hard on the first day to make sure there's no chance your partners get lynched.

This is especially given the fact that EVEN should I die, ness wouldn't be pressured any harder.

The reason I'm specifically looking at ness and not anyone else, is because I don't necessarily find their logic to be at fault. Daniel for example, has a self contained logic that makes sense given the circumstance, and their read reflects that.

On the other hand you have users who just say that they gutread me as mafia, which I hate but understand.

On the other-hand ness has made a claim equivalent to. "I see Shawo as scumlock and anyone who doesn't is (giving him a free pass)". Which is you know, not a bad thing to say, but the implication that ness finds anyone at fault that isn't scumreading me doesn't fit in line with the logic that he's brought to the table so far. Such that

"Shawo is scummier than toad, but I'm not really sure what to make of that." As well as "Shawo why did you do X and say Y."

I also gave the likely reason for why Ness would do that as town and gave them a chance to explain themselves.

The point I'm trying to make is, in my opinion this is a pretty damning piece of evidence that I think people are likely to agree with me on. Rather than "Oh shawo is mafia, if you don't agree than X." I would like to make the claim that Ness is mafia because the goal they're looking for isn't to find the mafia, but to get me lynched.

Hence, Ness is mafia.

It does sound a little choppy now that I'm reading it out loud, but I'm not sure we're on the same page here. I'll have more to say on this later, I'm going to go eat dinner.
 
I think the fact that ness chose to find fault with their own wording, and also chose to find fault with how I interpreted their wording supports the point I'm trying to make.

yeah that wording was coming off weird to me since ness also took something shawo said as literal without taking the rest of his (wall)post into context.

i actually think one of shawo or ness are mafia tbh

yea i haven’t taken the new players out of my PoE pool yet. none of them have done anything to townread them yet. frogslime said they were reading so i’m curious what their thoughts are once they’ve read

These two posts in order (I ordered them wrong sorry) Do contradict eachother.

If you make the claim that "Anyone who doesn't want to lynch me is []" You're indirectly making the claim that you're confident I'm mafia, and can prove why.

The fact that you didn't do that while making that claim, and instead chose to backtrack on your wording like what, 5 minutes after you said it?

Screams mafia.

What I would expect Town!Ness to act would be.

"Claims that I'm mafia."
"Makes post as to all the reasons I am mafia"
"Let me interact with the post as to why I am mafia"
"Following post starts to question why the people who don't want to lynch me don't, given the points that have he has made"

Instead it looked something like.
"Claim that I'm mafia."
"Ask me two questions."
"Decide they weren't good enough."
"Claims that anyone who doesn't scumread me is []"
"Says that he misworded it and will write a post about it later."


I will admit, calling his actions like that makes it seem scummier than it is, and I might be using a fallacy I don't know the name of while making this argument, but I think this has the core of my argument.

"I really don't think Ness is acting like town the way they do things."

Really hate how they backtracked on their claim after doubling down on it.

I really hate it.
