Mafia June 2020 Mafia Game Thread [DAY 2 ENDS AT 6/20 5PM PST]

I think reads based on how someone reacts to an argument about how many mafia in the game on day 1.... is a pretty weak read. I see daniel’s feigning interest in that conversation has other factors behind it that are not necessarily scum-aligning

And I think making a claim that has no logical basis in mafia to be scummy, because it shows a lack of interest in every part of the game.

It's a fairly common trend for mafia to make a mistake in analyzing things because they know to much, for example it wouldn't be surprising if a mafia were to try to pass of a 3 mafia team as an intentional point to deflect suspicion from there being a 4 person mafia team.

Mafia isn't a game where you follow a group consensus, it's one where you make your own conclusions and try to get other people to follow you.

The only way people listen to me is if I talk about what I think. Why should I roll over and listen to people who I don't even think are town?

If we lynch town today, what information did we get? They are town. that's it. We can go around beating each other to sus each other but it will only be a bunch of town vs town, mafia vs. town, discussions...

But I think night is more valuable because it gives us a chance to deduce why mafia killed this certain townie.

Lynching town gains us nothing, but we lose the chance of lynching the ninja. Our only goal is lynch a ninja that we don't even know exists or not.

if its not an open setup, i don't really get into numbers until after D1 where I begin to really think about the gravity of the situation. just doesn't feel worth my time D1 so yea

Heyden's link does make it seem convincing there's 4 scum so Ill concede to it being 4 for now

I think Shawo and I are just have a culture clash on when we value numbers. I can think in numbers but I focus my time on that when the game progresses and lynches get more decisive. right now its not on my priority list but its fine if it is for shawo

You haven't answered my question because I don't think you know how to. You asked if I read the thread 100% with me replying no, and you said "exactly", which insinuates that you don't either, no? So if you're not fully reading the thread, where was that opinion turnover derived from. You're gonna reply with a diverted response again, but I don't think you're seeing how inconsistent your behaviour is right now, and I have reason to believe that you are in fact sheeping.

honestly I can see damniel being annoyed town by the conversation coming up... and by the way you approached the conversation. I’m reading the room right now and Im willing to put 100% on that

well don't word it to say "you don't read the thread" thats all i meant. Daniel reminded me that Shawo is passionate and opinionated in Ness game and he was scum, and I was wrong, I thought he was town (thus the townread), but I did voice my opinion on Shawo vs. Toads. which I think no one did. So I dont get the sheeping argument

Well, I just want town to have many opportunities as we can but I already voted for Punchy but in TBT, no Lynch is always frowned upon. I don't know why...It's not like its the end of town if we do a no lynch..

nah, theres a stronger value in being able to empathize with people... and I think having the balance of turning that on and off is really clutch in mafia

However, emotions are NAI.

So there's no reason for me to use Empathy to attempt to read emotion, because I don't consider Emotion to be the end all be all of reading.

I do have to agree with this I don't really care for emotions. they make me uncomfortable and seem just personal instead of alignment telling anything. i see it more as if you take away the emotional filler then what's left and if there's any actual substance to the post
