The only downside to a single layer is that if you mess up... you're screwed. Otherwise, I get why people like doing single layers (or maybe a separate layer for the lineart).

uhh what exactly do you mean? you know I like to screw up a lot so... please warn me beforehand T_T
I especially like that there are so less layers because I can't accidentally draw on the wrong one, and having 100 layers on the side is bleh too... it will also help me with getting a feeling for colors, as it really depends a lot on color choices and stuff... I'm doing a bit of shading now of tiddie-kei xD and I think I'm doing actually ok...^^
also for your Sapphira, I think I found a nice hair shading what goes well together with the whole picture. I'll send you a mockup once I'm done with the whole hair ^^ //multitasking at 6 am lol

for example here the nose and lips, the basic sketch line I made before is still there, I just refined it

pffft those new canvases are pictures from other artists to pick skin colors from and I use them for orientation where to put shadow and stuff I don't feel ready yet to completely choose my own colors from the color wheel, as I can't simply adjust them to my liking anymore because of 1layer ^^''

honestlyyyy it's a waste in my opinion that you don't color your pretty lineart! Not sure if you do but watching speedpaints really helps a lot for learning how to color have more confidence SHIROOO *shoves painting brush in your hand

thanks^^ well the first step is differently, I did it the way an artist called viorie (SHE'S SO AMAZING I LOVE HER SPEEDPAINTS) did it. 1) sketch one 1layer. 2) (keitara only- copy and pasting an eye, 2nd layer, merging) 3) second layer for scribbling base color, merging to one layer again, from now on 1layer shading. Viorie sometimes makes new layers to add some effects or color correction with layer modes like multiple and lumi. You can watch her speedpaints on youtube, they are gorgeous!

I was up at 3am once and was watching a stream, they asked me what I think was wrong with the art, and I said it needed a dinosaur in the background. Then they drew me one so I called him Dan. Lawl. He's fabulous doe, yeah I know xD.

Nuuuuuuuuuuuuuu late reply cause really lazy lately TT_TT But OMG hecks no she looks byootiful<3<3 and oh my I love the pastel palette you used *_* it really works for her ;D
And I most certainly do, and fear not I might be lazy but I plan to finish up those graphics in the next week or so hwah been obsessively reading manga and watching anime in some kind of marathon LOL gomen >_< And thanks haha, I shall do my utmost to make EVERY piece as lovely as possible : )
