Looks like we are about to switch the clock soon

And it feels like it was just yesterday that we got to put our clocks back and winter was coming. That time of happiness is so short-lived... And now it's time to "Spring forward". Ughhh. I already hate Spring so much, the fact that I also have to lose an hour of sleep is just pouring salt in the wound.

I have horrible depression when it switches for the fall/winter because of the lack of sunlight in the afternoon. I am so, so, so, so happy that things will be getting back to my version of normal. I will be so much more motivated and productive. I might be really tired waking up this morning with the change, but it'll get better.

I?ve been saying it for years: ITS TIME FOR DST TO DIE

i think we should get rid of it, even though the sun wouldn't rise until 9:30am in the winter (the mountains prevent the sun from coming up until 8:30)

i don't really understand why we still need it either

I know that in most of Arizona, you don't have to switch the clock. Florida is just about to do the same, but the opposite. You won't have to switch back in Florida.

Last time when DST began, I purposely stayed up until 3 AM (2 AM on standard time).

Arizona doesn't...? I'm sorry if this is common knowledge, but can someone explain why Arizona's not changing their times?

I live in Arizona and I didn't know the reason why we don't do Daylight Savings Time until recently. In 1967 our state legislators figured that having an extra hour of sunlight in Arizona during one of our blazing hot summers wasn't such a great idea so they voted to opt out.Only the Navajo Nation acknowledges DST in the state now.Just this morning I was at work at around 5 AM and this guy starts tapping on our glass door so I go to talk to him and he asks"Aren't you guys supposed to be open right now?" And I told him,"No,not until 6 AM."He insisted it was already 6 AM until I showed him the small clock I carry around that had the time as 5:15 AM.He got kind of pissed and walked away.A few minutes later I remembered that the rest of the country was switching to DST.I guess the door tapping guy was from out of state or he doesn't realize that Arizona doesn't participate.

Wait, how can you choose how much sun you have? The sun will be out for an extra hour, so saying that somebody decided not to have an extra hour of sunlight confuses me ',:^(

It's already 7:00 PM from where I am. And the sun is still up.

EDIT: Almost 7:00 PM when I made this post.

Interesting fact: DST was created because it helped farmers with their seasons of harvesting and such. :D idk if farmers still use it for an advantage but I know we all may not like it :p

One con with DST is there are more driving accidents the morning of as people don't get enough sleep since they don't plan accordingly and whatnot so they drive with the lack of sleep they need to fully focus on the road :p So maybe doing away with DST is actually a better idea!

I live very close to farm country and work for a company that works directly with farm bureaus and yeah all i've heard for the past week was "wooot doggies daylight savings is here back to work tractors rule!!!!"

well not entirely verbatim but they are happy as frick about it lol

arizona is really hot, and they don't need more sun to make it hotter

i feel like it's unnecessary really. i don't see much of a point. would be better if the time would stay the same the whole year.

it doesn't really interrupt my life, though.
