Marcus's Tennis Tourney- Batley Regional Tour: 3

Yo guys. Final installment of the Batley Regional Tour blog now.

I lost in the final. Really great result because this is a very high level tourney. Won a 2 hour semi final 6-3 6-3. Slugging it out 30 shot rallies and managed to overcome a tough player.

Then in the final, I played the 14th in the UK. Not just England, but the WHOLE UK He was a year older and about double my height, with huge forehands, backhands and serves (probably 100mph+) First set I got dicked on in about 10 minutes, lost it 6-0. However I was inspired in the second set and stuck with him to 4-4. We then played a 10 minute game which I unfortunately lost. He was getting pissed off and I reckon if I'd won that game I could have taken the set. I then lost the set 6-4.

Overall, an A+ weekend. I'll post a picture of my medal later, right now I've collapsed into the car for a 214 mile car journey

@Psycho: Unfortunately it doesn't necessarily work like that You get your position based on tournament performances, and I have a nasty reputation as being an underachiever ie I never get where my ability should be able to take me.

However, with a Tour final under my belt now hopefully it'll give me confidence to carry on doing well in the future
