I think it's interesting but I don't really know if I identify strongly with my results, especially looking at the "strengths" section. I usually get INFP or INFJ depending on how rough my life has been leading up to the test.

i used to get INFJ all the time but i just took the test and got ISTP. i guess i dont completely disagree with it but the character-type sounds like someone who loves using their hands to do things and im not sure i'm super into that. i'm not crafty and i dont like crafting at all, but i love building pcs and looking inside electronics so ??maybe??

HOWEVER
Virtuoso women are especially rare, and the typical gender roles that society tends to expect can be a poor fit – they’ll often be seen as tomboys from a young age.
they do be on to somethin o_o

Sorry, going to bump this thread because I was bored! I thought there may have been a more recent thread, but couldn't find one. I wanted to compare my results to the last time I took it, but I couldn't find the screenshot 😔, though I remember the type being the same.

I don't believe in those personality tests at all, I just ignore them when I see them.

I'm an INFJ! I think the description is pretty accurate. I'm apparently 94% introverted......... I used to get INTJ a lot and it's still pretty close, but the IN-J part is solid.

I don't think there's ever gonna be a definitive way to categorise personalities into just a few groups, so I do take MBTI with a generous pinch of salt, but some parts of it make sense and I think it's a fun way to get a general idea of what kind of person someone is.

Based on the poll in the other thread, I think it's very interesting that there are a ton of INFJs here considering it's supposed to be the rarest type.

16 personalities is 'intuitive bias', that's why there's so many INFJs and INTJs or intuitive over Sensors in general on that site.

'Oh, you say you are not too interested in discussing various interpretations and analyses of creative works.?--SENSOR!'
'You become bored or lose interest when the discussion gets highly theoretical? Yes?--SENSOR!'
"You rarely contemplate the reasons for human existence or the meaning of life? No? INTUITIVE!'
'You believe that pondering abstract philosophical questions is a waste of time? NO? Oh my! you're an INFJ?!

Haha, why am I not surprised that you're the same type as me.

Anyway, I've already posted here, but there's multiple threads about this topic on this site and all I can say is... personalities are wayyyyy too diverse to categorize like this. Even if there were 100 or more different types it still wouldn't be enough to contain everyone in the world. Because even people that are similar in personality can have slight differences from each other, and a lot of it has to do with their upbringing and life experiences.

That being said, I do believe it's a good indicator of generalizing what each person is like. Just like AI, however, it can't get all the specifics exactly correct.

Like most personality-quiz things, they can be fun but I don't take them too seriously. It's a fairly in-depth one and so I think it's likely to get a lot of things correct, but I don't think they're ever going to be a complete match.
I remember when I was in my teens I consistently got INFJ, but after re-taking it this morning I got ISFJ-T! Could be a mood thing, could be my personality's developed (I know I was very into soul-searching and philosophical stuff as a teenager, but now I've kinda made my decisions on those things and thinking about them any more just makes me tired lol), or it could also be that I know myself better or am more honest in my answers than I was when I was younger.

ISFJ-T really does sound like me in a lot of ways, but I... do not agree with their recommended career paths for me at all. 😅 I'm much more comfortable in creative fields—interesting that for INFJ they recommend a lot of the same stuff as ISFJ, but with the addition of art, writing, and video game design, which sound infinitely more appealing to me. And while I do struggle with change a great deal, I'm not always one to align myself with tradition either.

I've read somewhere that the type of environment or culture we have/had grew up in can play a huge role in it.

Example: Like I can be an INFJ (the results I get sometimes) and not do some of the things people believe what an INFJ does, which might make them think I'm another type.

i did the test and i got INTP-T, i think what i got is somewhat accurate but i wouldn’t take tests like this 100% seriously, i don’t think i’d call myself an “innovative inventor with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge” LOL.

I think whenever you try to sort people into categories or boxes, there’s bound to be outliers, so I don’t think it could be 100% correct all the time. However, I do think it’s a very clever and interesting system, and I think a lot of INFP describes me really well. Not so sure about the “mediator” label for me though.

when I take the test I either get INTJ or INFJ and I think its really fun and validating when the results kind of correlate with how you feel. i generally think personality tests are really interesting, although not 100% accurate or true

I got ISFP-T the last 2-3 times I took it. Maybe I should take it again, but I'm pretty sure it won't change.
I already posted here, too.

Edit: Decided to go back and read about it. Only half of the description for mine makes sense, lol.

Personally, I prefer Animal Crossing’s definition of personality instead of the Myers-Briggs definition of personality. So I don’t believe these kind of tests.

i absolutely LOVE taking personality quizzes and it might not be too related to this, but reading up on my horoscope is always super fun too. i take a very lighthearted approach to both those things though and just read them for fun! i've done the mbti test before a few years ago and always seemed to get either istp, isfp or infp, i did the test again just to see what i'd get since i haven't in awhile and i got isfp-t! i think i'll always end up with the "i" for introvert lol but it's always so interesting to read up on the meanings of the results and seeing what rings true for myself.

it’s been over 3 years since i’ve taken the mbti test, and i’ve actually recently been thinking about retaking it for fun— i guess this thread getting bumped was my sign to finally do it haha

my personality type was infp-t the last time i took the mbti test, and i got the same personality type today! according to my results, i’m 90% introverted, 65% intuitive, 53% feeling, 58% prospecting, and 97% turbulent. i’m not sure how these differ from the percentages i got in 2020, but i agree with my results for the most part! i resonate with these descriptions of those with the infp-t personality type especially:

i think the mbti test and other personality tests can be fun to take, and can definitely yield accurate results, but i think people and their personalities are too complex to be summed up by them, or for the results to be 100% accurate. personality tests are fun and i enjoy taking them, but i never take my results too seriously or define myself with them 😅
