Missing Nintendo Switch Features?

So the Switch has been with us for over a year now (only by a couple days but still) and I'm honestly VERY surprised that we haven't gotten any kind of internet browser on the Switch. Especially because the eShop is basically built on a custom browser, just like the in-game manuals of some games. Seriously what's up with that?

And also something I really miss even though it not being an actual Switch feature is Netflix. Everytime if I want to watch a movie I have to turn on my Wii U which takes long and it buffers very often for me. I think I've seen somewhere that they're working on an application for Switch but it's taking awfully long if you ask me.

I am surprised there is no YouTube or Netflix app yet. Idgaf about an internet browser cuz the 3ds one sucked balls and I have so many ways to access the internet already.

I'm more concerned about the switch just becoming a port machine. It's kinda ok for me as I love Doom for switch and am really looking forward to Dark Souls Remastered, but it doesn't really help its image if it doesn't get new first party/third party AAA games soon.

I don't think we should worry about that. Sure lots of games are being ported to Switch at the moment but once the developers have had enough time to adjust to the hardware and actually have had enough time to develop a completely new game then there will be more exclusive/unique games.

And about the browser it's just convenient to be able to look up some information about games while I'm playing them. That's mostly why I'd like to have it.

Cloud saves, activity logs, Virtual Console and an actual messaging application is all I want for now. I’d eventually like more themes or maybe achievement/trophies, but they’re not big wants like the others.

I realize this is pretty silly, but I wish my Splatoon 2 pro controller showed the different coloured bits in the controllers screen like the joy cons do.

Basically what everyone else said: YouTube, Netflix, Virtual Console. I don’t care about an internet browser as I’ve never used the internet browser on any other handheld or console.

I'd love activity logs, Virtual Console (unless you consider Arcade Archives as a sort of VC), messaging, Netflix/YouTube, and an internet browser.

Having an internet browser on the switch would literally make it the perfect console for me. I'm still having to use my Wii U to watch videos on and off of youtube when I wanna see it on my TV screen.

Just wanted to say Nintendo released a switch update today... AND THEY ADDED THE PRO CONTROLLER COLOURS. So A., I'm freaking psychic, and B., knocked an item off of my wish list. I can play happily now.

the fact that theres no netflix or youtube is gonna piss my mom off bc i told her you could watch it without knowing if you could bc i just assumed and it DONT. so annoying bc i really wanted it too. maybe when the payed online services are in place they'll add it to make it feel less saddening that we gonna be paying for internet again

You pay for Nintendo's game servers, Netflix will most certainly not be part of that fee.

I believe poyonomatopoeia meant that they assumed it was possible to watch Netflix on your switch, not that it would be part of the fee for online.
