I'm a UI/UX enthusiast, so I favor the desktop view / perspective in browsing the internet. There's delightful characteristics of designs that web designers craft simply for the desktop view compared with mobile-first design perspectives (also known as responsive web design). Some examples can be found on
webdesignmuseum.org, most notably of my favorite trends ranging from the 2000's years timeline.
Though, I get disappointed with the modern web design trends and their decisions in UI/UX. Viewing what seems to be a majority of the modern web feels quite bland due to a reason that it's probably churned out with saturated and / or bloated web frameworks like CSS' bootstraps frameworks for example.
And as for mobile-first perspectives,I find that mobile designs is more befitting for on the go or going out and about when you need to view certain information on the internet. But, for decisions being that mobile-first means there can be constraints that can affect the full desktop views in terms of building the structure of a web template. That is another reason where I feel disappointed in modern web UI/UX.
