Mafia Monster Mash Mafia Game Thread (Town Win!)

Hey can you acknowledge the post where I said that if det gets cc'd you'll vote sheep since it's a mechanically optimal. So that way if you don't do that, you will be smited by f3 or something. Thanks.

i said if you flip green (which you won't, let's be honestl) we kill sheep already. what more do you want???

Betsy. While I appreciate it, might I recommend not leaving all of your reads against the person you believe is mafia. Like, what's the gain here. If I'm mafia I'm MORE than capable of leaving fake reads just to mess with you, is the simpler solution not just to... ignore my posts?

Why would I ignore your posts? You are divulging powerful clues. I'm sorry, I don't understand your reasoning. Maybe try explaining it like, I dunno....like I'm 5 or something.

I believe you are trying to paint me and one other person sus, and put your partner in the clear.

if theres a counterclaim i'm not voting sheep out before i vote shawo. what evidence would there be to incline that the counterclaim is more correct or true than sheeps? none.

and there wont be a counterclaim anyway. if there was one this late after sheeps claim that would be outrageously suspicious like why wouldn't cc det just claim immediately unless trying to protect shawo?

I would not trust a counterclaim at this time. Everyone responded to sheep's claim and had a chance. Also, sheep made everyone aware that some would possibly not be on close to eod.

yeah claiming second is already a hail mary in most cases.

unless there's huge supporting arguments behind it all. because he's right that maf can and will claim cop to bait out the real cop to snipe next night phase, but since this game set up is open and smaller, i don't see the risk / reward worth it for mafia to do? like, it seems like a super bold play to make in a set up like this w/ only 9 players.

i completely agree. and shawo said they were vanilla so it would be frankly stupid on mafias side for outing the other maf with a cc.

A+ for effort though. Go down fighting. And to think....I was just checking back in to see if anything new happened before calling it a night. I half expected just a counterclaim...🤣

I'll take time to read these through tomorrow, but gonna check out for the night. It's a pain to try to figure distancing or not, etc.

Ok two things (sorry an emergency propped up.)

One: I'm not saying that you have to believing the situation, I'm saying that's the situation fmpov. I know I'm town, so therefore X must be true.

Two: Actively voting me with a det cc is like actively playing against the town wincon. Like, I legitimately believe Tessa is playing dumb as mafia here, because a det cc means that voting sheep is a garunteed best option scenario.

Here's the game.

Active Det CC, so either Shawo/Det is mafia, or sheep is mafia with any partner.

If you vote Shawo and Shawo is town. Sheep is mafia confirmed, and you lose an ML.
If you vote shawo and shawo is mafia. The game is a win on the spot.
If you vote Sheep and Sheep is town. The game is a win on the spot.
If you vote sheep, and sheep is mafia. Sheep is mafia confirmed, and you keep your ML.

Like this is very basic problem solving - and all I want is an acknowledgement so no one can make the silly "haha I didn't believe that det would claim here. So i voted shawo" argument. It doesn't matter. It's a mechanical auto confirm.

I did read you though lol??
When i said that I meant through det, guess I didn’t make that clear
Random I actually think is basically 100% town. Their reads are so... so garbage. In a really towny way. I don't want to start a fight, usually, but basically what I'm trying to say is that Random's reads are SO bad, I don't think mafia could have conceivably created them.
Thanks?

I’m not following; why wouldn’t you be mafia? And then we’d just need to figure out who your partner is

I see any logical reason for sheep’s det claim to be fake

Don’t see

Morning (again)! Unfortunately I'm still trying to survive IRL problems so I will be spotty.
I do see the snake was out and about so that's fun.

There is no counterclaim. So fmpov:

Shawo = wolf
Sheep = detective

But for the sake of entertainment argument, if you magically flip town, then we can vote sheep tomorrow.

I believe this was already established?

But to clarify things, I've outlined my interpretation of shawo's gameplay on d1 and d2 as I see it now. I've tried to avoid being long winded and kept it brief, highlighting just the major points. Also tried not to offend anyone. Again, it's just my take on possible motivations and outcomes of shawo's gameplay d1 and d2.

Yeah okay I've now read what went on during me sleeping. Desperate Shawo is desperate, that's about everything I have to add. Not much to fistfight in his response since he's chosen this path. I cannot read Shawo well enough to know what to make of his "reads" changing.

@Totally_RandomYT What do you think about Tessa right now.

this was me being a bit scrambled. I don’t quite understand what you’re saying here. I was theorizing on what it meant that betsy and tae were quick to flip to follow shawo in voting.

I’m really sorry but I’m genuinely confused as to what you mean by the last paragraph;; Like I don’t understand what’s being said

Since I don't like leaving people confused and I wrote that at like... Too Late AM, my point in the last paragraph was that if you were mafia with Shawo then why would you -when given the chance to shift blame- decide to say Betsy and Tae were pinged by Shawo to vote. That's you basically saying 'My maf partner forced them to vote so I don't think Betsy+Tae are necessarily evil." Does that make more sense?

The decision to point out that bit of info leans as town to me? Like I guess it could be distancing but it feels like a very weird attempt at that if the case.

I don't see what you mean, she seems like she's mostly on the same train of thought as all of us.

do you feel like it’s more likely that sidney is maf!shawo’s partner as of this current point in the game or tessa?

i’m having a hard time believing shawo’s current reads because it’s obvious he’s caught between a rock and a hard place with your det claim.

i’ve believed tessa has been predominantly town this whole ass game. i’m absolutely inclined to believe that his 180 on tessa is not bussing his scum mate due to his stance and how he went after trent d1.

he pushed for tessa d2 right out of the gate (before you det claimed and outed him) and i think once shawo flips (red) that it clears tessa more. i don’t think anyone expected shawo to be the target for det after the end of d1, and his tessa flip was another BW on a townie who he thought he could push.

maybe i’m tinfoiling here but i don’t think tessa is sus. she’s been a strong townread from the start for me and i think anyone who super susses her due to shawo’s chaos right now is kinda icky. also, why would shawo push her before he was under the knife? i could understand if he started his push onto her AFTER you claimed det and put his feet to the fire- but it happened before the claim. i cant for the life of me see why he’d push such a strong 180 on her out of the gate just like that if they were scum mates.

Ohhhh okay that makes sense

And yeah, I was just thinking through things out loud while rereading and realized it wasn’t necessarily sus following from them since shawo did directly ping them to lead the vote

I still think it’s highly probably one of the two is the maf partner, and i do think it’s possible this was a way to give an out of sorts for following in a town kill to the parter. Why only those two @ed? There was others that hadn’t voted yet.
