Movies that really scared you as a child

The Witches!

My sister loved it and it was her favourite movie. The part were they take the masks and wigs off... nah son

Idk what it was, but when I was about 4 there was a thing on tv, where this doctor looking person stuck his hand all the way through a guy's belly button. There was a lot of blood, and the doctor pulled something out of it.

There were some scary parts in Bambie, when I was younger, along with Pooh's Grand Adventure.

After that I started watching real horror movies, and they never really scared me,
except for Jennifer and House by the Cemetery...mostly because I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on, and it was weird.

I agree! Poohs Grand Adventure had very scary parts in it!

Coraline. It is beyond me as to how that horror is a PG. I mean, it's actually a great movie, the animation is impressive, but when I was 7, none of that meant anything to me. I was crying lol

Coraline is one of the best movies I've ever seen, I love stop-motion in general and they did an excellent job showing the beauty of it. you could tell it was made with a lot of heart. man I'd really love to see another movie like it.

Yh as I said it is indeed a fantastic movie but 7 year old me begged to differ lol

I actually never saw that movie, but I remember, back in 2008, when I saw The Tale of Despereaux with my dad and cousin right after it came out in the theaters, I saw the trailer for that movie (Coraline), and it scared me like crazy. I was 8 then.

the movie definitely has many images that aren't very easy on the eyes and I could guarantee that you'll jump to at least part there because the second half of movie does indeed get really creepy with the unsettling atmosphere, the music and the damn close ups...
watching it made me wonder if it really was meant for children, it doesn't go lighthearted with the creepy parts like one would expect but that's why I really loved it, it's not what one would predict from a kids movie. it was one unique and satisfying experience and I suggest that you give it a try!

If I saw Coraline when I was a child, I'm pretty sure I'd be terrified. But luckily, it came out when I was 13 so I loved it right away.

I completely forgot about something I use to watch that wasn't quite a movie, it was more short stories. I haven't been able to find this particular one since, I just remember it was recorded on to VHS off the TV. Anyway, it was about this guy and from what I remember he wasn't one of the good guys. I think he had a thing about squashing cockroaches. So one day these cockroaches come piling out of every hole in his house. Assume they killed him but I can't remember that part. If anybody on the slim chance recognises that, please let me know what it's called! It's driven me mad for years. I've checked everything, even tales from the crypt.

I was a scaredy cat as a kid so pretty much everything mildly creepy and I was hiding behind a pillow. XD Also I remember sneaking into this divider closet that my room shared with the living room when i wasn't allowed to watch a movie or show so I could watch it anyways and I remember my family was watching the episode of the Twilight Zone where the Barbie bit someone and it was cause the little girl turned her babysitters into the dolls and I started like TAPING my toy chest closed at night so my dolls wouldn't come alive and hurt me...

Never mind as a bloody child, Indiana Jones scares the living **** out of me now and then. Notable scenes include the face-melting and the rapidly ageing man.

E.T. scared me when I was little. I was eating a bratwurst sausage, and the one scene when E.T. washed up from the river made me lose my appetite. (The bratwurst was like the pigment of E.T.'s skin, and I was disgusted how I thought that I was eating it)

The Dark Crystal and ET both scared the heck out of me. Humanoid puppets really freaked me out (and still kinda do) when I was little. I'm just glad I never watched Chucky as a kid.
