When I was in first or second grade, our school had us watch Empire of the Sun. Wth right? Right. That movie freaked me out so much that I would never leave my parents side as a kid when we went out!
Another was Childs play which my older cousins were watching during a family function. Only saw bits but of course it was all the terrifying ones.
Tremors was on TV one time too and I saw it of course. Spent the next few days running to get off the floor quickly when going from point A to B.
I'm not sure either of this one but I'm guessing Nightmare on elm street? There was a scene where the bed consumed the person who was lying in it then later spat the person out onto the ceiling. That one definitely gave me nightmares!
Then lastly, The Fly.. it was on tv and my Mom was watching it. It was ok until he started morphing. Man.
For some reason Stir of Echos really freaked me out. I must've caught it on t.v when I was little and all I saw was them stuffing that poor girl into the cement wall ;-; Watching it now doesn't really scare me anymore but it gave me few nightmares as a kid
That one scene in Pagemaster with Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde scared me when I was really young. It didn't stop me from enjoying the rest of the movie, though. I just covered my eyes during that one part, lol.
Freddy vs Jason was a particularly scary experience for me as a child, for a few reasons.
For one, we watched it on Halloween and I was fairly young.
Secondly, my parents essentially forced me to watch it, which made it all the more terrifying.
And, finally, after the movie I had to go to sleep, and as I was trying to sleep my dad thought it would be hilarious to go into the bathroom and slide some knives together.
When I saw Harry Potter for the first time, I must've been around 5 at the time (the movie was just out a year or something), I HATED it. It was so scary. I always thought I didn't like Harry Potter until I decided to re-watch it when I was 15, and I actually LOVED it then.
The first Harry Potter, only at the end, where Voldemort came out of the back of Quirrel's face. I always hid my face under a blanket and plugged my ears lmao
