Movies that really scared you as a child

When I was younger, I accidently walked in on my sister watching a horror movie (I don't even know what the name was, don't want to know) and it wasn't even the gory scene that scared me, it was a creepy ringtone that was playing. I still don't know what I found so horrifying about it but my family thought it was so funny that I was scared of a simple little tone that they made it their mission to play it every single time they could. Childhood memories. I always hated E.T. as well, I don't know why but it just creeped me out so whenever anyone suggested watching it I refused immediately!

I think Fire in the Sky gave me nightmares as a kid.

I forgot all about watching the birds? Or something like that when I was a kid. The birds go crazy and attack people...that scared me for years. I was always wary of birds on the school yard. There was also one about some man eating plants? Day of the triffids? I would laugh at that movie now but back then I was just terrified. And I can't remember what it was called, I think it was Jason and the arganauts? Or it might have been the Golden Fleece, anyway, it was the one with medusa and the evil horned creature in the swamp. And the big crow thing that comes and carries the girl away from her room. That movie still gives me the creeps to this day

Well, as a kid I watched tons of scary movies, which caused me to draw questionable things, have nightmares, etc. But because of things such as my drawings, my dad made me not like scary movies anymore. :(

This was when I was reeeeally little btw

Everyone is going to laugh but E.T. and The Neverending Story scared the crap out of me. I was a bit older but I was scared of Labyrinth too ; v ;

on "a bugs life" there was a scene of a real nasty looking bug & it freaked me out so i had a lot of nightmares about it where it would just tickle me violently

Some parts of The Neverending Story, for sure. There were a few parts in The Brave Little Toaster that scared the utter crap out of me as well, like when the heater gets mad and tries to short circuit or something, and the vacuum tries to commit suicide by sucking up his own chord. And of course, Watership Down. I used to hide behind a cushion during the Bigwig trap scene. :c

And wow, glad to see The Birds get mentioned here. That movie was pretty messed up.

Hmm, I don't know. My little cousin (Who was 7 or 8 at the time) was terrified of Micheal Jackson, like actually terrified to the point where she would start crying if she saw him. I think it was because of Thriller, but I used to get so annoyed at her because she wouldn't stop crying her eyes out.
