I'm both the "no, I don't see the need" and "no, but I'd like one." My 3DS XL is only a little over 2 years old and it works fine, though it lags a bit from time to time, so I can't justify getting the new one. But I wouldn't mind getting the new one at the same time?

I only got the New 3DS XL because my original red 3DS broke awhile back and I needed a replacement fast. Needless to say it's pretty much almost identical to the older 3DS XL with just some button and slot arrangements. I am a little disappointed though because I was expecting there to be more usage with the new buttons and better processor but not many exclusive games take advantage of that just yet.

I have the New 3DS XL and I love it! I got it though because I really needed an upgrade since I had the very first 3DS model from 2011.

I do really love the N3DS though. It loads so much faster and the graphics look so good. I really love the system and I think my purchase was really worth it!

Yes I have one, but I'm disappointed with the lack of exclusive games/games that use the C-stick...

Edit: Oh, I remembered: I like it because I can play the original DKCs on it. :D (What a masterpiece these games are...)

I have the normal sized one and I love it :D really like the extra controls, cover plates and the rotating 3D

I don't have a New 3DS XL. I had to replace my Midnight Purple 3DS a few months ago because the bottom screen was having problems. I chose to get a regular XL because it was cheaper and I didn't want to have to also buy the specific screwdriver needed to have access to the SD card, nor did I want to spend money on a microSD with more memory or an SD card reader to safely transfer my data.

As for the poll options, I voted "No, I don't see the need." People talk about how much faster it is than earlier 3DS models, and it has the ability to play SNES games on the Virtual Console, but I don't really care.

If I ever need to replace my other original 3DS model, I'll probably just get a 2DS since it's cheaper. Who knows though, maybe something will come along that will tempt me to get a New 3DS. It won't be the New 3DS XL though, as I prefer the smaller screen on the original 3DS compared to the XL. Plus, the smaller one letting you change faceplates is a feature I kinda like.

My other 3DS, it's uhhh.. kinda...
Almost in half.

I mostly want to get a new because of the cool new changeable shell feature and stuff, not so much for the amiibo reader and stuff, but I will probably not get one for a good while, maybe if some more new games come out I'll get one but for now my normal 3DS is fine.

I'd like one, but I really have no need for one. My current 3DS is only like 2 years old, which isn't really that bad - originally I bought it in 2013, but it had a hardware issue, so I sent it off to Nintendo mid-2014 and they ended up replacing it with a new one.
Every time I see a new 3DS tho I'm really tempted to buy one (so materialistic, I know), but there's literally no need. I could have picked up the HHD XL for about $180 here (RRP being $260) but I didn't because I don't like how the console looks, but also I don't have a need for one right now - I do kind of regret that decision a little, but at be same time, I don't. If my current 3DS died, othey make a really good new 3DS exclusive title, or I can find the console for a good deal, then I'll get one, but until then I'm pretty happy with my current one.

its the only 3ds i have haha i like it i dont mind not having a wifi switch not that it matters anyway

No, it just seems like a waste of money for an extra feature or two

When I decided to upgrade I bought the AC HHD New 3DS because I really loved the cover plates. I already had a 3DS XL so it was nice to have something different even if the screen was smaller.

well i have a HHD one and I'm loving it. Also as for wifi switches I don't really care, you can turn the skit off from the Menu at home screen and I don't really do that much trade. If I do it's for Pok?mon and there you can just walk away in other ways if they scam you.

i have one and i like it, its basically the same as the old one but just a bit faster and has another analog diddly to play with XDDDD

i don't think i want to know... *cough*

yeah idek for me it works, only thing i wish they kept the sd card thing so you could just pop it in and out and stuff, i preferred that rather than mess with the file sharing thing.

If they wanted it to have better processing power while maintaining its relative size, they had to make room somewhere, and that's pretty much how they did it. I do miss it a bit as well, but I've gotten used to using miiverse for screenshots, which is just about the only reason I would have taken the card out in the first place. The only other time would be due to a system transfer and since I don't do that very often at all, it's a lot less of an issue.

i dont mind it since i switch cover plates a lot :3c i have fates ones on right now but i have the acnl ones, the plain white ones, the peach ones and the black and gold stars so

I got the new one because my old one died. :( It's pretty nice, but I wish it came in more colors. Honestly, there's not a huge difference.
