I like it. I don't have a switch yet, so I'll probably be getting one of these instead of a regular one. I don't care about not being able to play on the tv because I don't like doing that anyway (one reason why my consoles collect dust). With the price I can see myself getting one at release and a second if/when the acnh bundle is announced.
This is perfect for someone who doesn't have a switch already. The teal color is very nice and I think at $200 its a good price.
Now the problem are the controllers. Is this finally going to fix the drifting on the joy cons? The most common problem are the drifting specially on the left joy con which I had to deal twice with already. I know the controllers are attached this time but if people end up experiencing this even when the controllers are attached then yikes....
Oh, really? : o I thought they all support handheld. It would make sense for Mario Party to support it since it's a party game. Hm... anyways so far all of the games I wanted to play support it, so I'm good! :3Super Mario Party for example doesn't support handheld mode, same goes for games like Just Dance.
Overall, there are only a handful of games that doesn't support this mode. Also, keep in mind that the
Lite is just a alternative option for those people who doesn't have a Switch yet and can live with the fact
that the Lite missing features the baisc Switch has (and also wants to save some money). They will not
change the availability of handheld mode for the basic Switch at all, it will all remain the same. So don't
worry about it.
Yeah, Internet is pretty bad on Switch. As much as I love Switch, Internet connection is just uh... it doesn't connect to the wi-fi that I have in another room, so I have to use tethering on my phone which doesn't allow me to play with other people. =/It looks nice, but I think I'll pass on this one for now. I already use my Switch as a handheld. When I'm at home, I'm forced to use a a wired connection, so WiFi on the Switch Lite would be nearly impossible, since it doesn't connect to the dock. As for the battery life, I'm not worried about it either, since I have a Powerbank for whenever I need to charge my Switch on the go.
I wonder if they'll make some special editions in the future. Like New 2DS XL Pikachu and Pokeball. They are so adorable with Pikachu's nose sticking out :3 And Pokeball looking like a ball with a little bulge, hah.I knew it!
I'm going to plan on getting one, but I'll base the finally decision once I see the specs.
this time, I'll wait a few months to make sure that they don't release more colors like they did the 2ds, (rip, I really want the orange and white one!)

Considering there's only one tv in my house, I never played consoles much either.
I do hope they bundle the acnh, I'd get two!
Does anyone know if this fits in the pocket? I ask because Nintendo's website only shows it being placed into a bag. And Nintendo customer support only told me that the system is one inch smaller in diameter. For someone who doesn't own a Switch I can see this being a good sale.
But for someone like me who ONLY plays in handheld mode and would like to upgrade to handheld only model, there's no point in buying a second system if it doesn't fit in my pocket. But Nintendo didn't have the answer. Sooooo, anyone know if a system one inch smaller then the original in diameter means it's pocket sized?
I don't think it'll fit in a pocket. But honestly, it's better to get a little bag. This way you won't scratch it.
Oh, I'm sure there will be some official carrying cases for Lite! : )Hmmmm. Well I do have a decent carrying case for my current unit. It's one of those pocket book type ones that only fits the system with Joy-Cons attached to it and an inset for up to five cartridges in it. IF I end up getting the Lite, I might see if they release something like that.
We'll see though. I am liking the turquoise scheme. :3

no offense but like: what is the point of the switch....without the switch functionality??? That's literally the biggest draw to the console that it's both portable and playable on the tv.
It's cute and everything, and more power to people who want one. But It's not for me.

I see Switch Lite as kind of the follow-up to 3DS. Basic Switch is a follow-up to Wii U. Since they're not making games for 3DS anymore, it makes sense to release Lite which is the same console as Switch but closer to 3DS. : )
Nintendo.... light switch??
