switch lite (really like the colours!) as i’d probably only play the new pok?mon game and ac: new horizons on it. :)

Both really.

The reason: I get to have two towns. I most likely won’t have any interaction with my 2nd town, so I’ll use it as a cycling town if able.

I'd get the normal switch. I don't ever use it docked, but I'd still like to have the option if I so desire. Also, the switch lite looks a bit too small for my preferences- a bigger screen is better.

What would you buy If they make Animal crossing limited edition for both ?

Heya Jessie! The Nintendo Switch Lite is compatible with the handheld console, so I really doubt New Horizons is only going to be for the normal Switch. Especially the fact it is going to be released next year. It just wouldn't be fair on the people who can afford cheaper and non-heavy consoles. All three colours look awesome, I don't know which one to choose!

But if I buy a console, and then later they sell out green ones, I am going to be very annoyed. Even though it is recommended to have the carrying case, I will wait until they have different colours. Who would want to wipe the white case every five minutes? I am thinking of the turquoise one, but the grey one looks cool too. I'll lean towards the turquoise if they don't intend to make a green one.

Unless you are short on money, I can't see any reason why you'd get the Lite over the original Switch. The original Switch is just straight-up superior.

Everyone is different. I can see why the original Switch has all the hype, but I cannot use the original as it is not portable. The handheld one is, but it needs to be connected to a tablet, and I don't have much space on my tablet to do that.

With the Lite version, it is portable, I can use it in the car, it's not too heavy (I'm really fussy, the only heavy things I want in my hands are dumbells at the gym lol). Most games I've seen released on the original switch is on the handheld one, so it's compatible.

But it's your choice at the end of the day. Some people like portable, some people don't.

I'd buy a Lite if only because I have a normal Switch already. Now if I needed a new one all of a sudden, that would change.

I already have a regular Switch, so within my usage I do not have reason to get another.
I would think there is likely to be a themed Switch, but even so, getting another for that reason is unlikely at the moment.

The Switch we have is my husband's, and since we both play Animal Crossing I'll be getting myself a Lite. I don't play many other games and I love playing during my commute. Not sure if I'll miss being able to play on a big screen though.. We'll have to see!

I'm really confused with what you're saying here. The original Switch has full handheld/portable capabilities. It can be taken anywhere. The one and only advantage Switch Lite has in this case is longer battery life, BUT guess what? They're doing a slight revision on the original Switch and those bought from when they release that (I'm unsure when that happens, or if it already has) will have superior battery life to the Switch Lite, so there's really absolutely no benefit with the Switch Lite for new purchasers. It is just cheaper, that is it.

Honestly, if you already have a regular Switch you won't need a Switch Lite. That said, I'd recommend the regular one more as well due to the capability for it to be put on the big screen.

I don't know that I'll buy either because I can't afford it right now, but if I could I'm pretty sure I'd get the Switch Lite because it's more affordable. It would be nice to play an AC game on the big screen again, but I'd probably end up playing it on the portable more often because we only have one TV.

Since the Switch Lite cannot be played on the TV, I would rather get the regular Switch since playing on the TV is my preferred way of playing the new game. I definitely see the benefits of the Switch Lite though for people who prefer to play on the go/mobile. Additionally, I am concerned still of the joycon stick drift issue which will be harder to deal with on the Switch Lite since the joycons are integrated in the Lite...

I would pick the regular switch. I own one already so I won't buy another as I don't have the need to but if I didn't have it, I would pick the regular still because I do like to play things on my tv, especially games with hd graphics like breath of the wild and eventually, new horizons. i also love the option that I can play handheld or on the tv depending on my mood, sometimes I just don't feel like playing on the tv or handheld so both options is wonderful for those who like having that freedom.

I already plan on getting a lite, since close to nothing the regular switch does interests me enough for the extra cost. plus it looks better imo

though I highly doubt I'd get an animal crossing edition, especially if it was anything like the poptart 3ds

really, right, now I'm just waiting for potential info of a mega 39's edition switch lite. which would probably just be the turquoise version with some decal slapped on

Regular switch because I want to play it on the tv. Also I don't care about the lite and I'm not getting one so....

Personally I wish I'd waited to get a Switch Lite, I'm not interested in stationary consoles and I only use my Switch in handheld mode. However, Animal Crossing is a series that's switched back and forth between three different platforms and done so successfully, so I don't think there's really any better way to play; it's all personal preference.
