So, I was too late to order my New Horizons switch and a little over a week ago Amazon sent me an email letting me know that I could place my order. I placed my order and was advised delivery would be on 23/03/2020…what?? I cancelled the order preferring to play from day of release on a normal switch (already booked annual leave).

I have searched here in the UK and cannot find any store with a switch (not light). I have seen some used switches starting at ?359 and new ones at about ?390. I have recently been tempted to buy but as of this morning I have just noticed stores stating that they are expecting new Switches from 9th-13th March for the normal price of ?279.

For those in the UK or indeed elsewhere trying to buy a new grey or neon Switch, it would be worth pre-ordering before they disappear off the shelves - again.

If that’s true it’s very upsetting—not being able to buy the system (or game for that matter) is a real nightmare scenario. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that everyone here can get one by March 20th!

I?ve just checked Nintendo UK and you can pre-order the blue/red one for ?279.99 for dispatch on 13 March. Might be worth pre-ordering?

Have you considered going to the stores in person e.g Game or Argos and having a look or giving your local ones a call? That?s probably what I would try if I couldn?t find any online. I?ve just googled my local Argos and Game stores and it says the Nintendo switch is in stock there.

Sorry to hear you can?t get your hands on one yet! Wish you luck!

Did you place your order with Amazon before or after the 13th?

I remember my friend trying to get a Switch after Christmas we went to a lot of stores trying to find one, Argos, Game, Cex ect. And they was all sold out, asked a Game employee when they might have a re-stock and said something like wouldn't be a re-stock till next month as there is a shortage.

I think your best bet is looking online for one, check the Nintendo UK store as they normally have some stocked. Hope you can fine one before the 20th! I know how frustrating it can be to look everywhere.

Expected shortages. There's unfortunately nothing Nintendo can do about it right now. Just hope you get lucky and snag one.

I feel really bad for people. I went a preorders my ACNH switch back at the beginning of feb when they were first announced. There no shops or websites I’ve seen that have any more in-stock anymore.

Follow @acpocketnews on twitter and turn on push notifications he posts when a random retailer restocks

Mine is being delivered on the 13th of March.

I was able to preorder mine after I signed up for a website called nowinstock.net

You set up your account, you can add your cellphone number, and then choose which sellers you want to get your notifications from.

Within a day Walmart Canada had stock available for a few hours and I snatched one up immediately.

Since then I haven't seen any go up yet. Its worth a try though, if you really want one.

It sucks that the coronavirus is such a huge issue, without that we would have regular stock in stores and online.

Is this just affecting the UK and/or Europe in general? Not seeing any shortage issues here in the US, at least for any Switch that isn't the special AC Switch. All of the major US online shops have a variety of Switches in stock, and from a quick search of physical stores near me, they have a lot of Switches in stock.

I haven't seen the storage in the US, but I have heard that we may see a switch shortage later.

Nintendo stated that with the crisis currently going on in China and other part of the world where production is happening, stock isn't being pumped out as fast as they were expecting. Currently there is really only a shortage with AC:NH Special Edition. Thats because its a newer console design that began production not too long ago. The original model will not be seeing a shortage until maybe a month after AC;NH releases since they probably have warehouses full of the console.

I've had my pre-order in since January 30th. I keep checking my email to make sure Best Buy hasn't cancelled it.

I remember trying to get my Switch a couple weeks after the system came out. Total nightmare. I had stock alerts set up and drove an hour at 7 in the morning the second it dinged. At least this means the system is doing well so we can expect lots of new games from Nintendo?

I doubt it will be cancelled now. Best Buy would have figured out by now if they oversold them or not. Meanwhile, I find it crazy that no one was able to find a switch recently. They must not be going on when they are on sale, cause my Special Edition switch was ordered on Feb 26th. I luckily ordered it maybe 10 minutes after they went up for sale. They sold out, and then came back in stock again the same night.

Hopefully. The lack of a directs with game info for the year doesn't give me much confidence in any other great game coming out this year. Animal crossing will keep me busy for a LONG time though.

There are a few decent third party games releasing this month, including Doom and Saints Row. I only care for AC:NH, but there's a lot of hype for a few reasons that may be contributing to shortages. Also, COVID-19.

that?s scary - i wasn?t planning on ordering the acnh switch but i?m really hoping i won?t have difficulty finding a switch lite, as i plan on buying it within the next week 0-0

I haven't seen this shortage much in the U.S. yet, is it only in the U.K.?
I have a feeling as weeks go by they're most likely going to shortage out here too.
