Round 1

Inflatables

This includes any birthday party appropriate item that is traditionally filled with air or helium. Your entry must be inflated to be accepted!

Examples: Balloons, inflatable props/decor, bounce houses

I'm going to be playing along with you for fun.

Round 2

Wall/Ceiling Decor

This includes any birthday party appropriate decorations that are typically hung on the walls or from the ceiling. Your entry does not have to be hung up in order to be accepted. I will accept a packaged item as long as it is clearly identifiable.

Examples: Streamers, bunting, banners, piñatas

Crafting Allowed!

Yes! This round will allow crafting! If you don't have access to any of these items (or even if you do!), you have the option to create your own banner, bunting, etc.
Keep in mind that anything you craft must still meet the criteria detailed above and a reasonable amount of effort must be put into your work.
If you are in doubt, please ask.

Also, keep in mind that this is not a competition. There are no rewards for the best item.

For my entry, I found some cute piñatas. On the left is a birthday cupcake and on the right a game controller. I thought both were very fitting for TBT's 20th Birthday!

Round 3

Centerpieces

Now that the room is starting to come together, it's time to focus on the tables. They are looking rather plain. What we need are some centerpieces to dress them up!

For this round I'm looking for an item or grouping of items that can be displayed in the center of a table as decoration.

Examples: Flowers, candles, lanterns, vases, nesting dolls

Crafting Allowed!

You have the option to create your own stunning centerpiece for the party if you choose to do so.

Keep in mind that anything you craft must still meet the criteria detailed above and a reasonable amount of effort must be put into your work. If you are in doubt, please ask.

Also, bear in mind that this is not a competition. There are no rewards for the best item.

Round 4

Full Place Setting

What's a party without food and drinks? But if we're going to enjoy all the delicious offerings, we'll need some tableware.

For the purposes of this event, a full place setting must include at least 3 items, one from each of the categories below. You may include more than the minimum if you'd like. All items should be captured in a single photograph.

1. A plate or a bowl
2. An eating utensil
3. A drinking vessel

Anything from paper and plastic to fine china and crystal is acceptable. No food or drink required.

Round 5

Scatterables

For this party, we're going all out! I want the tables covered in cute, fun, quirky little items! Yes, I know they get everywhere and we'll still be finding them at the next birthday celebration. But I'm not in charge of cleaning, so let's do it anyway!

For this round, I'm looking for a multitude of tiny objects that are similar or identical to each other. There is no specific amount required, but I expect there to be enough to cover a small surface area. It's probably a good idea to aim for double digits at least. I will accept packaged items as long as they are clearly identifiable.

Examples: Confetti, small candies, fuzzy pom poms, buttons, beads, little green alien babies

Please note that I will not accept things that are inappropriate for a party theme.
i.e. No pills, no staples, no thumbtacks (ouch)

I really wanted to show off my little magnetic sharks, so I went with an aquatic theme. I added some blue and green decorative marbles to match the colors of the ocean.

Round 6

Party Favors

Can you believe we're almost done? And just in time for the party to hit full swing!
I only have one final request. We don't want the guests to go home empty-handed, so we need party favors.

For this round, I'm looking for small, inexpensive items that our guests can bring home with them to remember the fun we had. Your entry must include at least 3 items. They can be the same items, different versions of the same item, or completely different items.

All items should be captured in a single photograph. I will accept packaged items as long as they are clearly identifiable.

Examples: Small toys, party poppers, noisemakers, pinwheels, seed packets, masks

I just went through and accepted several pages of submissions. If you feel like I've missed yours, please let me know as soon as possible and I will look into it.

Reminder that all 6 rounds of this event close tomorrow, August 11th at 11:59pm EDT. I will commit to getting every submission accepted before the rest of the physical prizes become available in the Shop on Monday.

Round 6: Party Favors

Here's where my random collections come in handy We have squishies, mini putty tins, and key chains!

I want to thank you all for participating in my little event and sharing your cool, cute, fun, and unique objects!

One thing I miss from before I joined staff was the ability to react to your event posts. Now, I can't show my appreciation with a simple reaction because I'm accepting them. I do call out some of the entries that stand out the most to me for one reason or another, but I want you to know that even if I didn't say anything about your entry in particular that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. I loved so many of them!

I hope you had fun helping to prep for the big party. Now go have a blast! This party's going to be amazing thanks to all of you!
