pet peeves / lil stuff you cant stand

Weirdos online trying to pressure you into using crappy gen AI to make your book covers (or worse, they do it for you). I'm not letting my characters nor my story near that trash. I'm going to hire/pay an artist. I believe an artist could truly capture what my story is and not some copy-paste machine, just because "it wuz quik, now gimme money!"

And if I'm 'missing out', well that sucks for me.
The way I see it, if someone couldn't bother to write or make the stuff themselves why should I take my time to read or look at it?

I've been wanting to start over in New Leaf (it's been a couple years since I've played).

Although it's a bummer when there's content you can't access because the online servers are cut.

When women are told that they're "broken" or they "failed as a woman" because they have fertility problems or they don't wanna have kids. It really irks me how a woman's worth is tied to whether or not she can have/wants kids. There's plenty of women on this earth who struggled with trying to conceive and had miscarriages in the past. Plus, motherhood isn't for everybody and taking care of children is a huge responsibility.

I had anxiety in school so I didn't want to use the bathroom at lunch when it was crowded.

I hated trying to go during the next class and getting the question from the teacher 'why didn't you just go during lunch'?

Because there were 10 kids packed in there being extremely loud.

A while back I googled ONE thing and got the answer from Reddit. Now for some reason when I try to go to this site it redirects me to that Reddit post!

Thought of another small thing that irks me: when people try to aim for a "retro game" aesthetic and call the graphics 8-bit when it is absolutely nothing like actual 8-bit sprites. Too many colors, overly simplistic to the point it's closer to Atari 2600 than NES... sometimes both at the same time somehow. With a bit of care it's possible to really push the limitations of 8-bit and make some cool-looking graphics that actually still work within those limitations, but I think a lot of people just get a bit lazy about it and simply want to appeal to a vague sense of nostalgia.

Of course, a long time ago I used to be really into spriting and pixel art, so that's probably the only reason I care enough about the topic.

The conservatives commenting on Elvira’s Instagram that they’re no longer following her and are “shocked” that she’s liberal…they have to be trolling.

They do the same stuff whenever a famous gay man supports a liberal cause, and I’m like…you follow someone who appeals to a lot of open-minded folks, and then you make a shocked Pikachu face whenever they support LGBT rights or are against Trump? Wow. They also did this to a body-positive account I follow, and I had no idea any conservatives followed her lol. Seriously…what did you expect??

(I'm a cis woman so I apologize if this comes off as a bit rude or ignorant) I find it really frustrating whenever I come across someone's bio and their pronouns are nowhere to be found. I wouldn't know what pronouns to refer to them if they're not listed anywhere on their bio so I don't risk accidentally using the wrong pronouns for them.

On a side note, I can't stand it when I see people attacking others in replies/comments sections because someone accidentally referred to a fictional character by the wrong pronouns. (I'm looking at you, Cookie Run fandom!) It's one thing to use the wrong pronouns on purpose, but it's another thing to do it on accident. If you see anybody use the wrong pronouns, whether it be a real person or a fictional character, kindly correct them.

You could ask them? /light-hearted

I frequently do not add my pronouns to my bios online as some sort of effort to hide myself from transphobes/trolls and I feel adding them attracts people that do not have my best interests in mind and there's some other things that make me insecure about making mine public.

I'm not the general consensus of "how come some people never tell others their pronouns in their bios?" nor do I intend to be but if I see someone hasn't added their pronouns online I either assume they're closeted about their identity and afraid of disrespectful comments such as myself or they're a cis person who doesn't really care about what people call them because it's not a big deal to them, my Cismale friend has added "I don't/really care" and "It's up/to you" in the pronouns section of his discord bios instead of He/Him.

I've never liked the song 'All About that Bass' by Meghan Trainer.

It's tainted by that one line "Go ahead and tell them skinny ******* that".

The song advocates against body shaming and preaches acceptance of one's self, then goes against its own purpose by body shaming the opposite spectrum.

How about we not make judgemental comments towards a persons weight at all.

OK this reminds me that I know all the lyrics to “Baby Got Back.” 😂

Sadly that song shames too, even if more poetically:
“To the beanpole dames in the magazines? You ain’t it, Miss Thing.
Give me a sista, can’t resist her,
Red beans and rice don’t miss her.”

And not to get all Forrest Gump, but my mom reminds me that it doesn’t matter what a person looks like, as long as they have a good heart. ❤️

The clickbaity way some Youtubers describe things in games, like—

"ALL EASTER EGGS in [game]" except all the "Easter eggs" are literally right out there in the open, not hidden in any way, and actually just a small plot/worldbuilding detail that most players will likely see

"SECRET ENDING FOUND" where the secret ending is literally just the game's ending... that isn't secret... that you are 100% guaranteed to get by finishing the game...

"STORY EXPLAINED" when there's nothing the story left vague or ambiguous and it's literally just a plot summary asdjfghsld

That reminds me, I tried to watch a video that said it was about references to Splatoon in other games, but most of it was just official crossovers. Not enough actual hidden references, mostly obvious things people probably know already. Should have used a different title...
