pet peeves / lil stuff you cant stand

This character is either impatient with everything or this is just terrible writing (I know I shouldn't judge, but it feels that way).

Context, there's this book that I bought recently and the character in the story seems to be impatient for almost everything because of the way it's written (along with other errors and grammar I seen so far).

"I'm going to the mall" I said impatiently. Even though there was nothing that indicated that they were getting annoyed at something. This wasn't written in the book, but I wouldn't be surprised if such a line exists.
Also this is a traditionally published book, not an indie.

Maybe I'm just not in this book's age group. I tend to read YA to get a grip on how those books are usually written like, don't want my teen characters talking like they are already 30. lol
I hate that and I always think 'People don't talk like that!' lol. Your last bit reminded me of this 😅

When people make wildly inappropriate jokes. Some kid in my school "jokingly" told a pregnant teacher near the end of her second trimester (who really wants a family, and this is her first child), that it's never too late to get an abortion. He got suspended for a day, but this infuriates me. I've also heard a handful of people joking about this same teacher getting a miscarriage. What is wrong with people??

The apple didn't fall too far from the tree. More than likely they learned this from people in their life. They lack empathy cause no one in their right mind would think that's appropriate or funny. Also more than likely they know what they're doing and just using 'it's a joke' as a thin veil to be a horrible person and just gaslight others into accepting that they just suck as a person.

Sorry you have to deal with idiots like that!

mfw people complain about someone doing to them the exact thing they are doing to someone else

I don't have anything against people using it, but it kind of annoys me when I see rn used instead of right now. I think it's just that I subconsciously associate with someone in particular that I find annoying, since they were the first person I saw use it. Nobody here.

Whenever I have that time of the month, baby animals make me tear up. I remember one day I saw a tiny baby bunny (milk spot and all) and burst into tears. 😭 I had to watch a bunch of YouTube poops to stop crying.

(Now, the peeve is not the precious babies, but my reaction to them.)

When someone calls animated characters "thicc" when they're drawn slightly thicker than the other so thin a toothpick is jealous characters. That's not what thicc is. Show me a belly, show me thighs that touch, show me plump arms. That's S instead of XS come on.

edit - typo.

this is more of a me problem but i have sensory issues with noise. i can't watch mukbangs at all. i don't like asmr vids. the noise of nails or fingers tapping on boxes or items drives me crazy, even if i'm interested in watching the rest of the review, i'll usually stop the entire vid and move onto something else. i also don't like whispering. i read that it's not that uncommon. a lot of people get chills or feel better listening to asmr but for a lot of people, asmr sounds trigger negative emotions and it's not something that you can train yourself to enjoy, it's most likely genetic but scientists have to do more research since it's all relatively new.

I can relate. I don't get the whole mukbang thing anyway. Why would I want to watch someone not only eat, but eat such unhealthy levels of food. I find people eating with their mouth open kinda gross. A lot of my family would do that and it grossed me out as a kid. I didn't really enjoy family dinner time, but I just assumed that's how everyone ate and it's not. My dad would sound like a cow eating. Smacking lips, lots of slobber, almost sounded like really wet mud or sand if you stepped on it with the suctiony slurpy sounds.

On the topic of what you mentioned, I don't really get the craze with reaction videos for everything from shows, trailers, and so forth.

I don't get how it's some kind of sin for artists to use references because "using references is cheating" and you're not a "real artist" if you use references to help you draw better.

Because REAL artists use their 🌈I M A G I N A T I O N🌈 in order to help them draw better and improve their art skills, amirite? 🙃 dw i'm just being sarcastic.
