And I get that to. I really love the events and how fun they can be, but the way some people acted over little digital trinkets kinda soured the image of this forum for me.
honestly I'm glad you said this because it perfectly describes how I feel. I did have someone try to campaign to me when the whole voting thing was happening, like 😬 really? and I dunno, I don't mind if people flex bc I've seen some really nice lineups on here, but it's just... they're little pixel images and people get so worked up over them. they're kinda losing value to me in a way. I like the ones I have and I think I'm pretty content there. I don't want to start any drama so I'll leave it at that.

but yeah, lots of doctor's visits coming up, speaking with a case worker about my home situation, getting my mental health and job situations sorted out. it's a lot. I think I need to focus on that for now and not worry about stuff here. it'll be good to focus on myself for a while. but of course, I'm always on discord and I'll happily talk to friends and folks on there. ☺️

No matter what I do, I always end up falling asleep at the same time on school nights. If I try to go to sleep 20 minutes earlier, the same thing happens. It’s just a curse at this point.

There’s a meme template that goes like this:

“Remember ___? Pepperidge Farm remembers.”

This meme is often associated with Family Guy, and it first appeared in the season five episode “Hell comes to Quahog”. If you search it up, all of the results are Family Guy, so you’d think that it was first seen in Family Guy, right?

Wrong. It actually first appeared in a Futurama episode. It makes sense why the Family Guy one is more popular considering that episode came out in 2006, but the Futurama episode came out in 1999. This is also a pretty common occurrence, I just wanted to give an example.

The power of marketing. Kleenex is well known.Though oddly enough when thinking of tissue commercials I think of Puff's.
Kleenex I think was the first tissue made, but when comparing farming games, people point at stardew more often than harvest moon though harvest moon is older.

Here's another cool marketing story for you.

Oreo was not the original "Oreo". It was a brand called Hydrox. It is said that the Oreo brand would have their distributors place Oreos in front of Hydrox cookies in stores so people would buy them instead, as well as hiding packages of Hydrox on shelves.

yeah there are laws against that now in stores lol. But some stores (the corporation not individual buildings) will charge a different price to have products placed on certain shelves.

Laws were definitely a good decision. What Oreo was doing was a long time ago, but it had a big impact on Hydrox cookies over the years. I mean, even though they tasted nearly the same, not many people know that Hydrox did it first!

And that is true. They will also place the products that they want you to buy most at "average eye level" so you're more likely to choose that product.

Now I know why Molly McGee was cancelled, and whatever caused its cancellation is exactly what Nintendo is aggressive about fighting against - piracy. The show was pirated, and Disney hasn’t done anything about piracy against the show.

I thought that was an actual pepperidge farm commercial they were riffing on. I’ve never seen it myself but I thought my mom told me about it. I could have misremembered and maybe she was just talking about one of the shows though.

Pepperidge Farm also doesn't forget. That was his piece of toast.

Many of Disney's shows have been cancelled. Owl House had to cut its season very short and rush a lot of the stories to the point some stuff didn't make sense. The company is just ran by idiots. There was that huge tax write off by Warner about a year or so ago where so many shows got cancelled.

It's like Nickelodeon when they struck it big with Avatar the Last Airbender, but you wouldn't think it by how they treated the series. All of these corporate goof balls just feel so out of touch with their audience anymore.

Fridge Logic:

In Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, Prince Peasley makes a bet, saying that he’ll give you 99,999,999,999,999 Mushroom Kingdom coins if you find all the Beanstar pieces before him. When you do, he does give you the coins… before you’re told that the Mushroom Kingdom to Beanbean Kingdom coin conversion today (it changes every day) makes all of those coins equal 99 coins. This is just there for a joke, but if you think about it, why didn’t they just take the coins home? Is it because there’s already a lot of coins in the Mushroom Kingdom?

It know it was a commercial, but I think that it became a meme because of that episode I mentioned.

it would be really cool if apple developed a drawing tablet for the apple pencil. ik thats TECHNICALLY the ipad but i mean something that could connect to the mac/other computers. i basically have this unused apple pencil laying around from years ago but i don't have an ipad.
