You know how Disney refuses to put Song of the South on Disney+ while putting content warnings on movies like Dumbo and Peter Pan? That’s because they (or at least some parts) were very racist by today’s standards (and by the standards of the 90’s). Nowadays, there’s plenty of media that came out in the 90’s and 2000’s (and even 2010’s) that are offensive by today’s standards, and it’s not limited to race. Examples:
  • In the 1990’s and 2000’s, gender stereotypes (like boyish boys and girly girls) were common and people hardly have an issue. While they still exist today, shows that feature this content (like The Fairly OddParents) wouldn’t sit well with today’s audiences due to trans issues. Even if the viewer isn’t trans, nonbinary, or a gender nonconformist, he/she would be insulted by 90’s gender stereotypes.
  • In the 1990’s and 2000’s, jokes about crossdressing, changing genders, and stuff like that were respected. Nowadays, they would be deemed transphobic, and if any new media has something like this, they would be seen as a hate propaganda piece rather than comedy.
  • In the 1990’s and 2000’s, it’s possible to tell the difference between good billionaires and bad billionaires. Nowadays, thanks to inflation and growing income equality, it’s hard to see anything good about being a billionaire.
  • Heck, many things featured in media from the 1990’s and 2000’s wouldn’t sit well with today’s society because of everything that happened since the time of their premiere. A SpongeBob episode was banned for having content that is too disturbing for kids. A handful of Simpsons episodes (like the ones that played Homer strangling Bart as comedy and the ones showing how extreme some of the bullies gotten) would be hard to make today due to how serious these subjects are. Anything that mocks on global warming or downplays it has not aged well.
Of course, with the exception of that one SpongeBob episode and the Simpsons episode with Michael Jackson, hardly any of that gets censored when it makes it to modern streaming services. But if anything new did the same stuff 90’s media did like stated above, it would get in a lot of trouble. This last time I played Banjo-Tooie, I found some of the dialogue and objectives to be disturbing.

Waiting for Life is Strange: Double Exposure to come out... please Steam I'm waiting

While trying to research the release time without spoilers I saw one headline that said "fantastic for the first 10 hours, doesn't stick the landing" and I'm like... that's the first game too.

My expectations are low, even lower for Pricefield, but honestly I just want a decent narrative. That's why the original Life is Strange is still in people's mind. Yeah I liked the characters in LiS 2, True Colors, Twin Mirror, Tell Me Why, whatever game I can't even remember now. But the story has to be good too.

And I don't expect the story in Double Exposure to be good. I'm sure a likable character in the first chapter will be the killer. Another likable character will be a twist second victim halfway through. The ending choice will probably be similiar to Beyond Two Souls. I just hope the investigation will be as good as that section in the original game. But I'm not holding my breath for it. My only wish is for Rachel to be alive in the other timeline, but I feel like I would have gotten that spoiled by now. I think the entire game leaked last week? I only seen people react to the content negatively, but know nothing of the content. It's probably like Twin Mirror but Max as the protagonist. Forgettable, but offensive to treat it as her sequel. It's such a desperate move from Deck Nine anyway, the 10 year anniversary is in three months. You couldn't wait that long? Red flag.

I was sorting through my thoughts and had the random thought that it would be hilarious if there was a parody where Jabba the Hutt is Santa Claus. Like he just crawls down your chimney, and the presents comes out of his slime as he slides by the tree. And instead of reindeer, there's random Star Wars creatures pulling his sleigh.

Don't ask me why I had this thought, because I don't know. 😂

I’m not Catholic, but wow the Vatican’s “mascot” Luce (for 2025) is adorable! (Sanrio vibes)

Instead of saying “deadass” my history teacher said “deceased-bottom,” which is honestly peak English and should probably be added to everyone’s vocabulary.
People should also say “wicked-bottom” instead of “badass” too.

I read that a lady is suing Subway for not putting enough steak on her sandwich, as it falsely advertised having more meat.

Now, I used to love Subway, but I stopped eating there after the yoga-mat bread debacle, and the “mystery meat” tuna didn’t help either. (Neither did Jared.) While Subway is not my preferred sandwich spot (Jimmy John’s is delicious), I would have to say that all restaurants advertise their food to look tastier, whether it’s more pepperoni on the pizza, a thicker burger patty, or a sub piled with meat. I get that Subway is sketchy, but come on now.

And what’s going on with Twitter?
honestly Twitter is just done for these days 😅

this is amazing, I'm adding this to my vocabulary 😂

So I'm borrowing my best friend's copy of Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, and I get to the library in the game, and I noticed that Ridelle Mystere the librarian kind of reminds me of Wikipe-tan a little bit.

About a week ago, I was attacked by mom's cat and now there's a permanent scar on my chest. Fun.

She accidentally clawed me while I was holding her down for medicine, but I suppose that's my fault for having only a bra on.

Very rarely will I ever be seen without a shirt on, so there's that.

This has been my first time getting to watch it. (born past the 90's decade and never caught any reruns).

I was so happy to hear Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as Joker. I played Arkham Aslyum so both were the familiar voices to me.

My experience with Batman is limited. (I played a game and I've seen a couple of the movies). So this cartoon has been a great introduction to some of the lesser screened villains like Clayface.
I know this is a old post, but you should check out Batman Beyond after. It's also a good show.

No problem. I'm still watching the animated series. And yeah definitely. My older brother has mentioned Batman Beyond.

I think I'll go through in order. Batman Animated, then beyond, then superman animated, then justice league.
