when I was a kid I didn't really play with My Little Pony, but I did have a few different ones. I remember having a small pink one (can't quite remember what it looked like, but I do know I brought it into the restroom when I was in school in 1st grade and left it in there on accident, and when I went back for it, it was gone 😭 rip), but the two I remember most fondly were named Royal Twist and Precious Gem.

I decided to look them up this morning, and I was reminded of how much I absolutely love Precious Gem:

the other one I do like, but I remember her hair having a strange texture because it had these little holographic streaks in it:

but the shades of pink, and cute designs, and gradient on her legs, are really nice 😌💖

I might still have these two somewhere, and if I do then I'd love to find them. though I remember that my Precious Gem's hair was messed up because I tried to brush it out with a regular brush 😭 I'd probably have to use a small curler to set it back to normal.
I wouldn't mind just buying a new Precious Gem, I'd love to display her with some of my other favourite collectibles on the shelf in my bedroom 💎💜💗

Why is is medical insurance for pets not a thing? Like, what the heck? Would really help when you have to take them to the vet.
 
I keep seeing posts online of people claiming that in the near future, many will buy "companion robots" powered by AI. Think "Detroit Become Human." Considering AI and robotics's limited state, I don't see that happening soon. The leading hurdle companies must overcome is making the robots not fall into the uncanny valley. For those that don't know, the uncanny valley is when the human brain sees something that looks somewhat human but doesn't quite look real, leading to a feeling of being creeped out. I have yet to see a humanoid robot with fake skin that does not look "off." I don't think many will buy robots like that unless they find a way to overcome that.

Move pawn up one space to attack the queen. Forcing it to retreat up the board.

That's the general idea. That left knight doesn't want to be out because you still deal with the queen taking central pawn and forcing check. The right sided knight wants to come out to defend the central pawn.

Ideally you should end up with a defensive set up like this. White can't take the central pawn, can't force checkmate, and usually runs back up the board putting them behind.

@ShawnFuzz If you get back into chess as you were mentioning, you might eventually find this helpful.

Of course, the queen can still threaten checkmate from above, but then the left knight comes out and it's very easily defended.

Just curious though, why not take the Queen with the Knight, instead of blocking with the pawn and making the Queen retreat?

I understand you don't want to lose the central pawn, but if you WERE to move the Knight out, the Queen could take the central pawn and black Queen can block check... right?

I am super sure I am missing something here!

By the way, thank you for posting something that has made me truly think for a few minutes!

I think there is pet insurance, but I have never used it, and I hear it's basically a worse scam than human insurance. They won't pay for anything, from what I have heard.

It's a little confusing to make these with images, but black is always going to be playing defensively against the scholars mate. The queen will come out first, black places his knight, but can't take the queen because the queen will be making the next move again. Queen would take the center pawn.

So, it's better to move the knight here on the right side. It defends the central pawn.

White bishop will come out next, left pawn moves up to block and attack the queen.

I feel like a failure whenever I think about how other kids my age are already working, even while having to go to school, but I’m not, and I don’t even have sports or anything to excuse not doing it. I’m probably going to start sometime this year, but it always makes me feel worse about myself that I’m not doing it yet.

When I was in school, I didn’t have a job or engaged in extracurricular activities. I preferred staying home and playing games when I don’t have school going on.
 
Dang, man...I am a walking ARMORY in RE2 remake. I did SO MUCH better this time around than I did the first time...much more thorough! I've found and made God knows how many bullets! Plenty of shotgun shells at over 50...even 10_ magnum rounds! TIME TO BRING THE PAIN, mwahahaha!
 
I realized an interesting discrepancy today.

so in Wii Sports, Matt is the champion of boxing, and he's also the very first opponent you face in tennis. Elisa is the champion of tennis, and she's also the very first opponent you face in baseball.

with that logic, you would think that, since Sakura is the champion of baseball, she would be the very first opponent you face in boxing, right? well, the truth is, Sakura is not actually an opponent who you ever face in boxing.

perhaps Sakura is too good to stoop down to the loser's level 😂
 
Doordash's dashmart wants you to pay almost $13 USD ( delivery fee + service fee) for one bottle roasted peanuts!

So I went elsewhere and found it a lot cheaper (along with delivery fee too).
This is why we need to compare prices on stuff. 😭

Pet insurance is absolutely a thing! I have both my cats insured. I spent way too many hours researching to make sure I got a good provider.

You do need to invest in it in advance though - before your pet shows any sign of illness, as most won't cover a pre-existing condition.
 
Debating on weather or not about posting my pokemon crystal nuzlocke yet, or wait a bit. As I am also wanna get back into my other nuzlockes too but worried it may seem like a lot all of once?
With the crystal nuxlocke, I've passed the 7th gym and wanna post it.
I am of course taking breaks. (Don't even get me started on the heartgold nuxlocke training)

I know someone already answered but I still wanted to chime in. It has been a thing for a while, but I think the past few years has been more affordable and sometimes offered by companies inside a bundle with other insurances. It is talked about a tad more than it use to. I still think most people would be better off putting money away every month for their dog when they first get it and treat that like an insurance payment. I do think pet insurance is best for people with breeds that are more likely to have a genetic issue that could show up later as the dog grows or allergies or some other condition that is long term that is common to that breed. Just me. Others may feel different and would want to treat their dog for cancer (which is an expensive wild card) while I wouldn't because I wouldn't put myself through chemo either. Id do surgery if there is a fair chance. Most vets offer payment plans. But I also wanted to mention, as more people pick up on pet health insurance, there is a good chance vet care will get more expensive. Just like in people care in usa, medical facilities or the pharmaceutical companies know an insurance company can foot the bill for things like an an over priced IV bag. And then the issue of needing x and having to argue with the insurance company to get x that is actually needed. Just variables to consider.
 
Have you noticed something in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? It’s not just the four bratty kids that had a change in state after the tour. All five kids had a change in state.
  • Augustus was squeezed thin in the fudge room. Although nothing else was shown in the end, it’s possible that he will be put on a dieting plan, meaning that he won’t be able to eat anything he wants.
  • Violet was still blue after being returned to normal. As her mother said in the 2005 version, she wouldn’t be able to compete anymore, ending her competitive lifestyle.
  • Veruca may not be distorted, but her parents will no longer spoil her after the tour.
  • Mike’s parents planned on throwing away their television set because of Mike’s TV obsession, which led him to his distorted state.
  • If Charlie was given control of the chocolate factory, he will no longer live in poverty like he did throughout most of the story.
 
I love/ed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Gene Wilder. I actually got a VCR tape of it out of the school bus trash can in elementary school because some high school chick hated the movie and thought it was dumb. I guess someone gave her the movie and she wasn't happy about it for some reason. She was pretty vocal and animated about it. As someone who liked watching movies, and the bus driver didn't care, I got to take it home and watched it for the first time and loved it.
