So I?m a big fan of RPG games personally. Among my favorite games are: the Paper Mario series, Kirby 64, Pok?mon series, Legend of Zelda games (my favorite is Wind Waker), and the Harvest Moon series. I?m a big fan of Animal Crossing too.
Lately I?ve been playing Harvest Moon: Animal Parade, which is 10 years old, because I haven?t found any new RPG games I am really into that are similar. As far as Harvest Moon goes, ever since AP and the series has transitioned into ?Story of Seasons?, I think it has sort of lost its nostalgic vibe that made the series special to me.
So.. do y?all have any series that you can recommend or love right now in the RPG genre? I know everyone recommends ?Stardew Valley? to people who love Harvest Moon, but I?ve tried it and am not really into it. I?ve been playing Harvest Moon AP for a while now though, and I feel super old playing a game that?s 10 years old.
Please share any new RPG games that you love, on any console!

Fantasy life on the 3DS! I love this game so much (considering replaying it now that it’s been a few years). The characters are really cute and it’s a fun little adventure from start to finish, even though the storyline is corny. I have a lot of great memories playing with friends on multiplayer as well!

Do JRPGs count? If so, in recent years I’ve been really interested in the Xenoblade series, specifically Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I don’t know if this is what you’re looking for or not as it’s a more story-driven series (not very cute or stuff like that), but I just thought I would mention it. :)

My favorite RPG besides Pokemon is definitely Paper Mario on the N64. I actually don't play RPGs much since I generally enjoy playing platforming/collectathon games more, but I played PM64 back in 2013 for the first time and it's still one of my favorite N64 games :)

I just took a look at that one! It looks like there’s a lot of things like in Harvest Moon (mining, farming, etc). I think I will watch some gameplays on it. It looks fun! Thank you!

JRPG’s are great too! I love story games as well, I tend towards the more cutesy games but am totally willing to try others. The Xenoblade series looks pretty popular, I think I’m going to watch some gameplay on that as well! :)

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door! It was my favorite game in general before New Leaf.
Almost every game in the Paper Mario series I consider a favorite.

You guys. Paper Mario 64 and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door are totally some of my favoooorritee games ever. I love them sooooo much!! I?ve played them each several times through over and over, and have cherished copies. However, I usually wait a few years in between playing them again.
That?s mainly what I?ve been doing lately.. I have a group of older RPG games like paper Mario and I kinda just cycle through them over the years, from Zelda OOT or WW to Paper Mario games in succession to Harvest Moon and then back around again.. but I realized I?m just playing the same games over again and not trying many new games! But I just feel like I don?t have much that compares to them lol. I gotta get outta my comfort zone!!

XC2 was awesome, and even though I was playing Xenoblade Chronicles for 3DS, I immediately quit once Nintendo unveiled the announcement trailer for Switch. Can't wait to preorder that sweet baby, lol.

RPG!

Currently my favorite RPG is The Witcher and Pokemon, because Pokemon is pretty awesome. I also like Final Fantasy and Fire Emblem! There's an awesome iPhone game called "AI Dungeon" Which is an all text based RPG with AI it's really cool!

Getting back into The Witcher because of the TV series haha, got hooked onto it again.
But my favourite RPG is Final Fantasy series! I've played all of them and beaten them, love it.

RPGs are my favorite genre in video games, too. (though, I haven't been able to enjoy them as much, for some time, due to time constraints) They're a lot like an interactive story. Most of my top picks have already been listed, but I'd also like to recommend Etrian Odyssey, the Rune Factory series, Phantasy Star 4, the Fire Emblem series, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Bravely Default, Dawn of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Disgaea, if you haven't already tried them. I had lots of fun playing those games, especially Rune Factory.

Final Fantasy III for the DS is pretty fun! The FF games in general are good.

Stardew Valley is pretty awesome, but I kinda feel like a drive to keep on playing is missing for me. I have more fond memories of Fantasy Life, I think it's perfect for people who couldn't quite get into SV for the same reason. I also adore Fire Emblem: Three Houses, but that's more for the combat gameplay.

Ive played lots of rpg games, final fantasy, LoZ, persona, etc (some pc ones too ofc) but theres only one rpg I've ever replayed after beating and that is Grandia 2!
There's something about the storyline, the music, the atmosphere that keeps drawing me back. Plus the voice acting is really good too. They recently released an HD collection on switch so I highly recommend it! You get both Grandia 1 and 2, but I promise that 2 is the best.

Thanks y?all, I?m looking into these games!! Currently I just started playing Horizon Zero Dawn on PS4. Its an amazing RPG game focused on stealth. I highly recommend, it?s got a really good story!

I absolutely LOVE RPGs!! My favorites are Skyrim, K.O.A. Reckoning, and Assassin's Creed. Some of the best MMOPRGs would in my opinion be Elder Scrolls Online and TERA.

^Skyrim is neat, I like that game.

No one has mentioned the Rune Factory series? It's similar to Harvest Moon games, but you can fight and befriend monsters, which is why I love it so much. Plus, Marvelous is coming out with Factory 5 sometime this year I think, and an updated version of 4 (for the 3DS), Rune Factory 4 Special, already came out February 25th for Switch. I can't wait to play it and 5 once I get my NH Switch. I've played 4 and I'm replaying it also. I've also played Frontier (Wii) which I find really fun as well. I've heard 2 and 3 were some really good games in the series too, both for the DS system (not 3DS). Tides of Destiny is another Rune Factory game, slightly different from the others (for Wii). Good luck finding it thou.

I also play Animal Parade and Tale of Two Towns, both of which I enjoy.

Unpopular here, but I really love fantasy/medieval rpgs. Gauntlet Dark Legacy, Mount & Blade Warband, and Divinity Original Sin 2 are my absolute favorites of all time.

Victor Vran, Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, Pillars of Eternity, Monster Hunter 4U, Dragon Age, and Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door are all amazing too!
