i hope they make it possible for the switch to ''pokebank'' from gen 7 AND 6, WITH the items.
i have like 130 IV bred and EV trained mons, i'd hate to play a second copy of the game just to get 1 leftovers or black sludge or elemental gem, or expert belt or whatever at a time.

There isn't really many other options of Pokemon games to play though atm is there. Ofc people are still playing Gen 7, its the most recent Gen. The 3DS is like 8 years old, they don't really need to keep supporting it as much if the switch is being successful.
If its just Pokemon Go i'll delete my Golden Easter Egg lmfao.

Lol ben being salty. I just hate the "lol i got a switch let's **** the 3ds over" mentality. If Ninty wanted it to die they'd done already, or they are just bad letting it run for no reason. I couldn't care less about Switch considering all the things they pulled and I consider the Go games pretty much the joke of its generation. It's sad people are all over swith and ditched their 3ds let alone a few tourists here.

I guess, althoguh what is a highlight is up to the buyer imo not them. And yeah with all the "faves" soon releasing they will probably let the 3ds suffer for itself and all its owners long enough, sigh.

honestly, I love my 3ds, but it's kind of in a desperate need for an actual update

The 3DS is eight years old now. It had a great run, but it is now time to move on. I'd be really frustrated if these games came out on the 3DS (but I know they won't) because lord knows my Switch needs them. It hasn't been played by me since like December.
The Switch is actually really amazing as a handheld system. I think it is the most comfortable handheld I have ever played. It's true that the Lets Go games are a travesty that desperately needs to be swept under the rug ASAP. And the Switch certainly has its pitfalls - too many ports versus quality new games, paid online, etc. But I still want games to play on it. As I said, it is really comfortable to play in handheld mode. I can just relax in my bed and play it. I've actually missed that in the last months, because it was really relaxing for me.
You know the funny thing about Pokemon and the paid online service that I refuse to pay for is that I think they actually go together well. I used to like playing Pokemon online back in the day because it made catching them all so much easier... But you see, Pokemon Generation VII removed the National Dex rendering catching them all a completely worthless endeavor. As for battling online? People you battle online always have competitively trained Pokemon so I just get my butt handed to me because competitively training Pokemon is less entertaining than watching paint dry in my mind (and is also not worth it).
So I actually like Pokemon coming out. It will not ever tempt me to pay for Nintendo's shoddy online service that we should never have to pay for. =P
Definitely going to get this once I get a Switch, but I?ll only be getting a Switch once Animal Crossing is released for it. If it takes longer for that to happen, so be it. Gen 8 Pokemon, SSBU, and AC for the Switch are pretty much the only three games I?ll have for the console for a long time if I do get one (not interested in ports or anything else tbh). I am excited for the information though. Probably won?t be able to watch the Direct as it?s in the morning and I have other priorities, but I?ll take a look at it later for sure.
Also yeah, I?m fairly certain this is going to be gen 8 Pokemon information for a new main game, and I don?t think gen 4 remakes will happen until after the new region and main games for gen 8.

The've outright stated that they aren't making anymore core pokemon games for the 3ds. That console has been out for ages and it's time they lay it to rest on that front, they need to go into a new generation of consoles, especially with how badly the WiiU bombed. They're slowing down with the 3ds greatly to try and get people to get the Switch. Its just business.

I'm excited about this. Pokemon and Animal Crossing are the reasons I will finally buy a Switch sometime this year, so looking forward to hearing more info.
I expect to hear about the starters (first form only) and a generic timeframe release date (like "fall 2019" or something), but not too much else. It feels really early for them to bother giving too much info yet.
