All I'm saying is that your defense is hella bad. It's like seeing a new Mega evolution, then going "I don't know which Pokemon that is" until an official publication puts a name to it.
No it's not, I think you're blowing this out of proportion. How can his defense be "hella bad"? There was literally no concrete confirmation that trainer customization would or wouldn't be back, how is that a bad defense? It's an even playing field since there's nothing confirming it would or wouldn't return... Yes, there were things that implied it wouldn't make a return, but at the end of the day, nothing was set in stone, so there's absolutely no reason to say one point was more logical than the other, other than
pure speculation.
Whenever they announce a mega evolution there isn't any reason to be like "what Pokemon is that" because when they're released they show the Pokemon they're mega evolving from. Not to mention, it's so obvious which Pokemon it is.
That's nothing compared to whether or not trainer customization will be in the game based on the amount of screenshots weve received, I don't even know why you compared it to that. I get that you're trying to say that it makes sense based on looks (ie; you can tell which Pokemon the mega evolution belongs to by looking at it VS you can tell if trainer customization will be back by looking at the character in each screenshot), but it's still no reason to essentially bad mouth everyone implying that they shouldn't be disappointed by it not returning because it was confirmed long ago, it wasn't - and tbh they have their reasons to be disappointed, and they're going to feel that way whether you like it or not, so stop trying to make things worse for yourself by flogging a dead horse. They have a right to be disappointed, so leave it.
And whilst we're talking about mega evolutions... There is a pattern of Pokemon showing up in battles against newly revealed mega Pokemon receiving mega evoltuions, but not every Pokemon has. This is the same as what you're trying to say with trainer customization not returning - just because a lot of screenshots and images don't show off trainer customization, it wont be back. Just like how Shiftry keeps appearing as an opponent for newly revealed mega Pokemon, but has yet to receive a mega evolution itself. It's pure speculation, there was absolutely nothing to confirm nor deny that trainer customization would be back, just like there is nothing to confirm/deny that Mega Shifty will be a thing in OR/AS. Nothing but
pure speculation.
If Mega Shiftry ends up getting a mega evolution, I'm pretty sure no one will go around screaming "IT'S ALMOST LIKE I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR MONTHS WOW WHAT A SURPRISE YOU GUYS" because there was no proof, nothing, that we would get it, nothing other than pure speculation. It's immature, and just makes you look like you only care about drawing attention to yourself. Which is exactly why people are getting annoyed at you. You're basically making out that because you were right that trainer customization wouldn't be back, everyone should bow down before you and treat you like the king, apologizing that they ever dare think trainer customization would return.
Yes, I agree with you on the point that it was very obvious that it wouldn't return, but that's still no reason to run around screaming it was "confirmed" months ago, when it wasn't. No matter how many hints, nudges, or "proof" there was that customization wouldn't return, it still wasn't confirmed, and IMO, it is something for people to be disappointed over who enjoyed the feature in X&Y.
And like, again with Megas... Ever since Primal Groudon/Kyogre were announced, everyone basically knew that we'd be getting Primal/Mega Rayquaza, but they completely ignored the fact that he even existed until last month (iirc? or the month before), and then announced his mega shortly after. That's just like if I were to go around saying "Guys, Rayquaza hasn't been shown in any pictures or images yet, he's not going to be in the game, and he wont get a mega/primal", when everyone was out there hoping for it, only to actually be confirmed months later that it wouldn't happen, and that Ray wouldn't appear in OR/AS. Of course people are going to be disappointed, a highly anticipated/hyped feature of a game being debunked is a major set back to anyone who was looking forward to said feature - whether it be a mega or trainer customization, it's still no reason to go around saying "GUYS I SAID IT AGES AGO IF U ALL LISTENED 2 ME U WOULDN'T BE DISAPPOINTED NOW".
Personally, I honestly couldn't give two ****s about trainer customization, it was a feature I did not care about, nor did I bother to use, but I do feel for the people who enjoyed it and wanted it back. That said, I still kinda think it was a dumb move on Nintendo/Gamefreak's behalf to remove it from the game, no matter how "true" they want to keep the games (but then again, they also removed secret bases from R/S/E to D/P/P and replaced them with underground BS, and then removed the aspect entirely on B/W so anythings possible I guess).
The bottom line is, trainer customization was only confirmed not to return recently, like, not-even-a-day-ago recently. No matter how many hints or publication there was that
implied there wouldn't be any trainer customization in OR/AS, it wasn't confirmed three months ago, it was only confirmed recently. Stop making out you're a martyr because
you confirmed/decided it wouldn't be back months ago (granted, you were correct, but there's still no reason for crude "I'm right, you're wrong" behavior), because you're not, and you're just embarrassing yourself, as well as coming off as arrogant and cocky.
