Pokémon Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee

I was kind of on the fence about buying this, although deep down I was pretty sure I'd get it haha. But the new trailer got me pretty excited. I know it's a departure from the other games, but I'm not letting that bother me. I'm thinking of it as a spin off type game. Like happy home designer. I want to enjoy it on its own instead of thinking how it doesn't measure up to the other games in the series. It has the fun side bits in it like dressing up and playing with your pokemon that might detract from the mainline. I see it as a branching off. Let's go can appeal to my love of pokemonamie and all things cute and relaxed, and I'll be able to play a mainline game geared towards battle and strategy when the new one comes out next year.

Trainer customisation returns, Blue/Gary is not your rival, Pikachu and Eevee are customisable, following Pokemon can be used to find items, Misty confirmed as a Gym Leader and by wording in the trailer, only select larger Pokemon are rideable though I could be wrong

Most of this we already knew from E3. The only "new" thing here is Misty being the Gym Leader, but it's not like anyone expected that not to be the case to begin with.

That looks wicked.
I haven't played Pokemon in years.

I'd buy a Switch for this.

Is there offline play?

The majority of the game is offline.

Anyway, some more new information;
- Oddish, Sandshrew and Growlithe are exclusive to Pikachu, and Bellsprout, Vulpix and Meowth are exclusive to Eevee. So it seems Pikachu will be "Red" and Eevee will be "Blue/Green". Though in Blue/Green Sandshrew was an exclusive and not obtainable in Red, so it seems this has been switched
- Legendary Pokemon seem to have actual battles before they can be caught, unlike regular wild Pokemon which just jump straight to the catching screen

I read you can get the first 150 Pokemon as it's based on Yellow.

I can't remember the legendaries in that.

The first legendaries where arcticuno, zapdos and moltres, mewtoo and you can also get new apparently given the trailer.

I personally will get the games or rather game, since I never got two of the same generation. I will get Eevee since I like Eevee better than Pikachu and I love vulpix and want a little vulpix running next to me.

When I first heard about the game I was rather sceptical since I don't really like the fact, that the wild Pok?mon battled aren't there anymore but are like Pok?mon Go. But I started playing Pok?mon go with my girlfriend again and it has been rather fun.

The trailers look really good, it looks so charming in my eyes and it's interesting to see, what they did to the old region!

Also: riding on Arcanine, aaaaah!

If every Pokemon from Kanto to Alola was added I'd definitely get this game but for now I'm just interested in it and probably won't get it.

ok i know what i want for Christmas

Santa got me a 3ds, so why not a switch? lol

I wish I could be excited for these.. but I'm not. They look like incredibly dumbed down Pokemon RPGs, and are just there for MORE Gen 1 nostalgia garbage.

I'm on the fence about this game but I really want that special Switch.

I don't know if I'm ready to drop $400 on a Switch anytime soon though. Argh.

So apparently you are not allowed to evolve your starter Pok?mon in either game. I sort of suspected this because of Pikachu in Yellow, but why would they restrict Eevee, a Pok?mon most notable for its evolutions? I get that this Eevee has access to elemental moves, but I still find this disappointing.

In my opinion it would have been interesting if Eevee version took the perspective of Blue/Gary, since that was his starter in Yellow version. Of course that was probably unlikely from a matter of cost, but it still would have been a fresh take on the Gen 1 story.

They probably did it to be fair. You can't evolve Pikachu, because they wanted to keep it like the Pikachu in Yellow. So the people who buy Let's Go Eevee can't evolve their Pokemon either. That's the only reason I can think of.

I'm glad they're at least giving that Eevee special moves. Vanilla unevolved Eevee isn't really that viable to use in battle in the Pokemon main series outside of certain specialized support-oriented roles. If you're expected to have it the entire game, you really need more. Heck, even unevolved Pikachu feels so underpowered by the time you get to the Elite 4 in Yellow, since the Elite 4's Pokemon are all final evolutions and have the higher base stats that goes along with that.

As the game gets closer to its release, I get more excited to get the game.

Do you want to know what else I like to see in the game? More trainer customization.

The concept that it's Gen 1 and Gen 1 only has seriously turned me off of this game. Personally, even though my first game was Fire Red and I had a blast playing it when I was younger, I'm just not a fan of Gen 1 at all.

All the other aspects of it look really awesome and cute, but if it's seriously limited to Gen 1 Pokemon and they don't even acknowledge the fact that Johto is right next to Kanto, then it's not worth it.

At least this looks like the best version of Kanto yet. I am probably in the minority here, but I never liked FireRed/LeafGreen. I consider them to be the worst of the mainline games that I've played. I don't know why, but I found them pretty boring.

Let's Go at least has following Pokemon, the really cool graphics, lots of ways to customize and interact with your starter (which makes them feel more special than any other starter in the past IMO), and new features. There's rumors going around that
there's going to be more Mega Evolutions even.
