how can you tell if its an event outbreak? I checked my map yesterday and saw a sparkling yellow outbreak, is that a Flabebe one?

Yes, that's the one. I think all of the colours are spawning, but I haven't seen a white flower version yet on either of my games. Could just be a coincidence.

There's probably a few of them on the map, all marked with that sparkle.

How long did it take you guys to fill the paldea pokedex? I’m trying to do that right now to get the shiny charm and want to see an approximate time

Another S/V distribution! From Serebii:

"A new distribution has begun. This distribution was given during today's Paldean Winds episode to celebrate its release and gives players a Gimmighoul based on the Gimmighoul used in today's episode. It is obtained with the code SEEY0U1NPALDEA. It runs until November 30th 2024. It has a 31 Speed IV and 0 IV in everything else."

Strange IV spread but then again I expect nothing less from GF

Its out now!
Many new mons have been released

First mon up is Hydrapple!

It remains Grass/Dragon
You can evolve Dripplin into Hydrapple by having it learn the move Dragon Cheer and leveling it up. You can earn Dragon Cheer by defeating Drayton.

~Paradoxes~

Paradox Entei is Gouging Fire and is Fire/Dragon (Scarlet exclusive)

Paradox Raikou is Raging Bolt and is Electric/Dragon (Scarlet exclusive)

Paradox Terrakion is Iron Boulder and is Rock/Psychic (Violet exclusive)

Paradox Cobalion is Iron Crown and is Steel/Psychic (Violet exclusive)

~Momotaro~

"Momotaro" is actually the mythical and is officially named Pecharunt
1025.png

Pecharunt
is Poison/Ghost
It has the ability Poison Puppeteer, which confused mons poisoned by Pecharunts moves

Finally Terapagos

All 3 forms of Terapagos are Normal type

Stellar Form
1024-s.png

Sig move: Tera Starstorm
Description: "With the power of its crystals, the user bombards and eliminates the target. When used by Terapagos in its Stellar Form, this move damages all opposing Pokémon"

Stellar Tera

It is not the 19th type but rather a boost

From Serebii:

"The Stellar Tera Type is the 19th Tera Type that can be found when going through the depths of Area Zero. This Tera Type doesn't change the Pokémon's weaknesses or Resisances but gives a one-time per type per battle boost to moves in standard battle, and constant in Tera Raid Battles.

With this Tera Type, Tera Blast is always super effective against Terastallised Pokémon but lowers the user's Attack and Special Attack
."

Thats just for starters so if anyone else has something to share please do. I'll be away from Pokemon for a while

Hydrapple looks pretty cool. Paradox Entei looks cool too, but it feels more like a fan-made design than it does an official one. Terapagos is cute. The others aren't speaking to me, unfortunately.

After years of being bitter that the Applin line is dragon-type, I can finally say that Hydrapple is somewhat cute and actually looks like a dragon. The Entei Paradox is also one of the only Paradox forms that I like. Other than that, I have little good to say about most of the 9th gen Pokemon design decisions.

I forgot to mention that Duraludon evolves into Archaludon by using the Metal Alloy, which can be purchased for 300 Blueberry Points.

I will playing the DLC some time next year. For the first time, I'm not really that excited about new Pokemon content. I'm still not even sure about Gen 10 and if I'll purchase it at release. Like...I feel Terapagos should've been non-DLC. I miss pre-DLC games and all the content in one game. If I had the choice, I would take 3rd versions over DLC content any day.

I absolutely love Hydrapple; I wish all of the heads were permanently out instead of popping out for attack animations, but hey, I'll take what I can get. I was already planning to Masuda Method breed for two shiny Applin when I first saw Dipplin and heard that it had an evolution coming, but now I definitely have to.

Not feeling too much excitement about any of the other newly unveiled Pokémon. Paradox Entei/Gouging Fire looks all right. Pecharunt's Ability sounds interesting but the design isn't all that appealing.

Looking forward to diving into the DLC sometime in January.

Does anybody know if they added a Battle Facility like the Battle Tower with this (or the last) DLC? I hadn't heard anything about it, so I figured it was left out of this gen completely, but I just wanted to know for certain. I'll be pretty sad if they decided that raid battles should essentially be the only form of post-game battle content outside of PVP.

Almost every time I'm scrolling through YouTube or when I open up the app, I get a thumbnail ad thingy from the Official Pokémon Company promoting the Indigo Disk DLC part 2, and what do they keep shoving into my face? Starters, starters and more starters. Yes I get it Nintendo I can pay you $30 to buy all the starters that should have just been available from the start had it not been for Dexit.

I watched someone play through the DLC (both Teal and Indigo) and after hearing the BW Trainer battle theme play during that one fight with Lacey, and the Route 2/3 theme during that other encounter with her, and seeing all the returning Gen 5 mons, I'm convinced that ScarVio was just a testing ground of sorts for possible Gen 5 remakes (which I really want to be excited for but really don't want them to happen, because I'm afraid GF is going to royally **** them up. I want to be hopeful, but Pokémon has been in a bad place as of late).

GF has been slowly taking our freedom of choice away from their mostly adult fanbase, and I hate it lol
  • Can't turn off EXP. Share
  • Can't play in "Battle Set" Mode
  • Can't turn off battle animations
  • Making more and more fundamental moves/mechanics/features unavailable
  • Making us use cherry-picked Pokémon they deem worthy to exist within the code.
  • Taking away the starters and feeding them back to us as paid content.
  • And a bunch of other things I can't think of atm but trust me, it's no bueno lol
The Blueberry Elite Four teams had actual held items, a full party of 6 Pokémon, and good double battle synergy, unlike the vanilla Paldea E4 which had no held items. I was pleasantly surprised to see that. Yet the A.I. still doesn't heal their party or strategically switch out.

Hydrapple should have been a final evolution from the start of part one Teal Mask, no need for the middle stage unless you like to run Dipplin with Eviolite or just prefer Dipplin for its fantastic shiny. You could choose to evolve Applin into one of the three: Flapple, Appletun or Hydrapple. I also think that all of Hydrapple's heads should have just been sticking out (no pun intended lol) and have them all be chaotic and maybe have different expressions, like Exeggutor and Dodrio. But it's overall still a nice design, just could have been more appealing (appleling lol okay definitely pun intended) with more heads.

Those have been some of my thoughts (gripes lol) about the DLC and all things Pokémon related. Can anyone say "TMs are single use in Black/White" because we're remembering it all wrong. They were always breakable xD

Out of curiosity, what ScarVio Pokemon do you guys find the best team members? Like most powerful, useful, etc?

In general, I've found these guys to be my best (across two games):

Quaquaval -unique attack that powers up speed at the same time
Skeledirge - unique attack that powers up sp.atk at the same time
Anhiliape - I found Rage Fist useful
Houndstone - Generally found helpful (once I got past the disobedience barrier)
Scream Tail - Post-game, found helpful in some raids and I think an irl champion or something used this one as well?
Baxcalibur - Might be biased, because he was my False Swiper, but he's always packed a punch

I've also heard good things about Meowscarada, Palafin, Ceruledge and Armarouge.

But take my words with a pinch of salt - I just play casually with favourites, and I always choose a team of the newest Pokemon over any from previous gens so I can't really compare them to previous gens properly.

Just caught a shiny male Pryroar in Scarlet. Almost walked away from it...then I was like "I think that's different than it normally looks". It's so tricky in S/V without the shiny animation and some of the shiny forms being very subtle. Also, there are a lot of the more modern Pokemon that I am admittedly not the most familiar with. Anyway...big win for me today. Lol. Think that's my second legit shiny caught from just walking around. All my other shinies are either promotional code ones, or bootleg ones from surprise trade that I will never use. I haven't done much breeding, because I don't really like the way it's done in Scarlet and Violet.

I've been collecting BP with my friend, and we got the ditto block quest.
It started fun and then finding the 5th ditto block was very annoying. We ended up trying to look at guide but in the end, it's pretty much randomized and the more players you have in multiplayer, it gets harder. Though earning 600 BP was very nice. Then I hung out with it.

This event will run from December 22nd through December 24th.

Following that, Walking Wake and Iron Leaves will return to raid battles from December 25th through January 7th

What are your thoughts? Will you get these Pokémon?

Going to redownload the game briefly to get Indigo Stuff done. I thought about putting it off for next year/month but realized I'll be going in the game with an all Dark type team from my Teal Mask and it wouldn't be a good run without a Darkrai so...yeah

Anyway while my game is downloading I thought about my final team against Kieran. This is what I've decided:

Hisuian Samurott - Sharpness - Focus Sash
Overqwil - Intimidate - Black Sludge
Greninja - Protean - Life Orb
Chi-Yu - Beads of Ruin - Choice Specs
Ogrepon - Hearthflame Mask
Kingambit - Supreme Overlord - Leftovers

Thoughts? Any Kieran mons that might cause the team trouble? I'm going mono to make the game harder so I won't change that
