Pokémon Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet General Discussion

Stellar Tera Lurantis with Contrary to raise Attack/Sp. Atk instead of lowering sounds fun
It’s technically better on Serperior, Enamorous, or Malamar, but I’m one of the few people with a lv 100 Lurantis as my False Swiper and I’ve developed a sort of a bond, so it'll be alright

I'm thinking of switching out Chi-Yu for Meowscarada. STAB Knock Off seems good stacking up Ceaseless Edge spikes and Overqwil's Toxic Spikes. He has no Poisons or Steels so his team is weak against Toxic Spikes.

I just bought pokemon home for a month so I can restart my game. I don’t have all the games anymore but as the data is saved on the switch I went through my sword, eevee And arceus files and I have quite a few shinies and legends I don’t remember getting! I’m thinking I’ll restart violet tomorrow and do a nuzlocke over Christmas. I’m going to do the gyms and titans in level order this and time and not use candies to level up as I think that completely ruined the game for me previously. I don’t think I battled a single overworld trainer…

You can get 10 Metal Sound TMs via Mystery Gift because Shieldon is a Violet exclusive.

"Some new bugs and oversights have been acknowleged in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. First, if you level up Inkay using Candy under Level 30 the game will stop receiving input. In addition to that, TM223 is requiring Shieldon parts despite Shieldon not being available in Pokémon Scarlet. As such, this will be adjusted. This will be fixed in a patch due out in late January. As an apology for TM223 requiring materials only available in one version of the game, 10 TM223 (Metal Sound) will be distributed from December 26th 2023 through Mystery Gift -> Receive Via Internet. It will be available until Version 3.0.1 releases which will resolve the oversight."

7 Star Iron Bundle is now live! If you're playing Pokemon Scarlet this is a good chance of getting a Violet Paradox.

Also, a new wave of the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC icons is now live for Nintendo Switch Online Subscribers. Wave 3 includes multiple new icon parts including Okidogi, Fezandipiti, Munkidori as well as Juliana & Florian in their Festival Jinbei, as well as returning icons and frames. These are available for one week until December 29th 2023.

I’ve been doing a wonderlocke and finally got the option to trade.

I’ve kept my starter as I always do and have a quaxly and currently have 2 eevees, a slowpoke and an azurill. I got excited because I got a shiny phantump but it was one of those hacked website ones so I sent it back 😢

Oo, how do you know if something is from a hack? I don’t trade often, but still curious. Good catch, but sorry about you losing your shiny! 😢

The easiest way to tell is if they have a random website as their nickname. I've seen some in my Pokemon Violet Wonderlocke/Surpriselocke as well. Actually, right before I caught my full odds shiny Lycanroc in the wild, someone traded me a shiny hacked Rockruff. Unfortunately I had to trade it away, but thankfully the game decided to gift me right afterwards!

I did it! I passed Lacey's trial in the DLC on my first try and beat her without losing a single Pokemon. The key was my shiny gen 4 team featuring three shiny Lucarios, shiny Mismagius, shiny Abomasnow, and shiny Mamoswine.

I started the battle with both of my level 100 shiny Lucarios out. Started spamming Meteor Mash with the strongest of the two and it kept raising the Attack stat on every hit. Then I used the other as support with Life Dew to heal both of us and keep us from fainting. Lacey's Granbull went down, and eventually so did her Whimsiscott. Primarina and Galarian Slowbro stood no chance. I switched out to Abomasnow to easily take out her Primarina, and pummeled through her Galarian Slowbro with another Meteor Mash. Then came her last Pokemon, Alcremie and Excadrill. I took out her Alcremie with one Meteor Mash, and then baited her Excadrill by switching into Mismagius. She went for a Ground type move of course, but it did NOTHING to Mismagius because of Levitate. With no Tailwind from Whimsiscott and it now being 2v1, I pummeled her Excadrill to death using a very powered up Close Combat for the win.

Not even a challenge! 1 down, 3 to go. 😤

Yup! As Midoriya said it had some random website name. There was a quite a few going round in sword and shield that were like shinymachamp.com or something, my grebe and was shinyriolu.Ls I believe ☹️

I restarted violet and I’m trying to speed through the intro but my god is the introduction to being able to do whatever you want long. I just got to the school and had to have a break 😭

the intro to these new games are unbearable. ive tried to replay ultra moon for the past three years and im not strong enough. that first five hours is pure pain.

lacey was the ONE battle i had trouble with!! i was so shocked when i lost to her because everything else was so easy. i didn’t think this dlc was too difficult considering all my pokemon were around level 90s, but i guess i just didn't have anything good for fairy type

Yeah, I challenged her first because I had a good advantage there and realized I could just use the starting BP I obtained to access the trial. I think it just highly depends on which types you have on your team.

For example, I'm saving Crispin for last and am highly dreading that battle considering how weak my entire team is to Fire, hehe... (well, aside from Mismagius of course).

I haven't lost yet. I've beaten Amarys and Crispin so far. Crispin was the easiest. Since I never use items or switch out in hard battles I had two faint vs Amarys and only one vs Crispin. Switching out would have had me 0 fainted mons but I wanted to challenge myself. They're a lot easier than players have been saying. Drayton's challenge is annoying so it might take me awhile to complete that before challenging him.

Just defeated Drayton without losing a single Pokemon! Rukia the shiny Mamoswine and Esdeath the shiny Abomasnow were the stars of the show, launching Ice Shard after Ice Shard at all of Drayton's Pokemon and downing them one by one. Thanks to their abilities Snow Warning and Snow Cloak, Drayton ended up missing on a lot of his moves. Now I only have Amarys and Crispin left to face.

For reference, my all-Terrarium team was male Pyroar, Alolan Exeggutor, Lapras, Scrafty, Rotom, and Excadrill. :3

I defeated both Amarys and Crispin and...

Finished the Indigo Disk main story! Really glad to be done with it, and it looks like there's more to do. I also heard that there's an epilogue coming out soon. Terapagos is so adorable. 🥺

I used Arceus and Perish Song and kept switching it out for my other Pokemon. Surprisingly I had an underleveled Grubbin on my team to act as a decoy for hits and it was hardly targeted except for a few status moves. I was able to use it to use Revives

I've officially finished my final all-in-one team for Pokemon Scarlet! Wanted to give a HUGE shoutout to @michealsmells and his shiny shop for supplying me with not one, not two, but THREE good Pokemon in the likes of shiny Lucario, shiny Eelektross, and shiny Hydreigon. They're three of my favorite Pokemon in the game, so I'm super ecstatic that I have EV/IV trained shinies of them now. Chandelure, Snorlax, and Azumarill were added to round out the team, and Azumarill is still pretty useful in a lot of raid battles. 💚

Hey I was mentioned. Always glad to be of help Midoriya!! I love catchin' shinies.

I’m sure a lot of you know but Eelektross is probably my favorite Pokémon of all time, so shiny hunting it is on my to-do list for sure!
