Competitive Pokémon Shiny Hunt

Each target Pokémon only counts once.

Oh no! I've caught 3 shiny gyaradoses today, 2 in scarlet and one in soulsilver (I'm more than happy to provide evidence of my trainer card for all 3)

Does this mean 2 of them are just ruled out of the competition altogether or can I still get 1 point each for them (like if i was shiny hunting any other pokemon off the list because thats what i would've done if i knew! Oops!)

thanks for letting us know evolving counts. it would've been weird otherwise imo.

so i guess that begs the question does the shiny magikarp count as an extra point? i just realized any shiny u find gives u a point and does evolving a shiny pokemon count for 2 points?

lemme just say that Dratini was a PAIN to get because the veluza kept chasing me..... please no more shinies in water i beg..... if i see another veluza charging at me at full speed i will lose my mind.........

Question - if we catch a shiny that is not currently a target, but then it becomes one in a future batch, does the points we are awarded change?

Similarly, if a new hot target is a shiny Pokémon we already caught, are we allowed to find it again and 'overwrite' the previous one to get more points?

You'll receive 1 point for each of these!

However, as a quick disclaimer, we will only count any Pokémon that the game forces to be shiny (such as Lake of Rage Gyarados) one time. Any duplicates of that shiny Pokémon will need to found using other methods.

We'll only count the Pokémon once. So if you catch a Magikarp to evolve into Gyarados, we'll give you the points for the Gyarados because that's worth more.

The points you are awarded will not change. However, you are allowed to find a new shiny of that Pokémon to submit.

The point system has been amended slightly based on the questions regarding how multiple captures work.

*If more than one person finds all of the target Pokémon, then this will be awarded based on speed.
