Pokémon Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield General Discussion

they needa change the name of rare candy to somewhat-uncommon-candy

im not the best at these but i would say if you wanna go for an eviolite pawniard you should choose jolly. It will be able to outspeed slow and defensive pokemon including alcremie. so like, first turn swords dance, second turn attack move and you'll be good since it will be able to take an attack thanks to the eviolite.

It'll be a swords dance bisharp. The cake does have a fire move though.

I was just in a Weavile raid with one other person. He had Arcanine, I had Toxicroak. They kept using bulldoze to knock out the npcs and my frog. Don't be that guy. Still caught it.

Some random raid partner joined me for a Toxtricity raid and just targeted me and the npc with his espeon. So going by this, you can use taunt on that dang solrock to get it to attack the raid boss.

So I was going to use Bisharp against fairy type raids, but a lot of those have mystic fire. Do the cake, gardevoir, and Hatterene have a better counter?

I stopped playing this game because there was nothing left for me to do, but after the release of Pok?mon HOME, I’m back to playing it. Since Pok?mon HOME is out, here’s what I did:

- I got an Alolan Vulpix transferred over and maxed out its level
- I went to a few max raid battles using a Solgaleo
- I fully trained Solgaleo, Lunala, and Necrozma (both Solgaleo and Lunala were the same Pok?mon as Nebby in the storylines, not the Cosmogs you can get in the postgame).
- I taught Mew Power Gem since it’s now teachable rather than a move you must learn by leveling up. Hooray for a Pok?mon that can learn both Earth Power and Power Gem (as well as Ice Beam).
- I obtained all seven Alcremie sweets, even as the event is about to end in a few days

Just caught a shiny raid Mimikyu today that has a stat spread that would be ideal for trick room aromatisse. How is that anymore?

I'm not surprised that this section of the forum is a bit on the dead side right now, considering the hype with ACNH and this being a forum dedicated to Animal Crossing.

Even I've not played Shield in a while.

I still play. Technically I'm just passing down the HA to my transfer mon which I should be done by Friday. By then I'll hop over and finish dmc3 while working on finishing my dex before new horizon drops. After that I'll completely ignore everything that is not new horizons. By June I'll be back on pokemon bs while trying to balance new horizons.

The other day I did a raid with someone who used earthquake every turn. They knocked out both of the NPC's with one turn, my pokemon on the second, and then once everyone had gotten back into the raid knocked out ALL THREE OF US on the same turn with another earthquake.

That's one reason I bred trapinch, for Flygon's levitate.

so the mewtwo raid fight is really difficult, it took me about 5 tries to beat it and ive made a quick guide about it if anyone is struggling

what is needed/recommended:
prankster dual screens + taunt grimmsnarl holding light clay (most important)
marshadow with spectral thief
lunala with wide guard
dawn wings necrozma
others that can hit hard and resist/are normally affected by mewtwos attacks, you dont want to bring anything that is potentially weak to any of its possible movesets. ghost, water, psychic, and fairy types are really good types to bring because of this, or rotom-w which has levitate to avoid ground type

taunt stops it from setting up bulk up, calm mind or nasty plot. light screen/reflect is crucial so that you dont get nuked. spectral thief steals its stat boosts when you cant set up taunt. wide guard protects you and your teammates from its attacks such as earthquake, rock slide and blizzard.
trick room support is useful if your team is slow.
life dew is also a good idea

there are three variants of mewtwo. two are special attackers and one is physical, which is why you should carry both light screen and reflect

mewtwo 1/2 (light screen)
psychic
aura sphere/focus blast
flamethrower/fire blast
ice beam/blizzard
nasty plot/calm mind
(there might be more moves)

mewtwo 3 (reflect)
zen headbutt
brick break
earthquake
fire punch
rock slide
bulk up

other things to be aware of:
sometimes the mewtwo raid starts with a barrier and you cant taunt with a barrier, so its pretty much over when it boosts its stats too much unless theres a marshadow
be wary of psychic terrain when it uses max mindstorm, you cant use any priority moves like sucker punch, quick attack or taunt when this terrain is in effect
everyone needs to be prepared with a level 100 mon and you should never start or stay in raids when there arent 4 people, with cpus youre doomed
if your other random teammates bring mons that arent very good or supportive, just leave and find another room. itll most likely be a waste of your time
recommended to build a grimmsnarl yourself because its a lot harder without one. this isnt very difficult because prankster isnt a hidden ability and it doesnt have any egg moves you need to worry about. its best to prepare at least two mons for this (grim and something else) in case someone already selects grim
leave the dynamaxing to the pokemon who will do damage, otherwise youll mess up and wont be able to support
brick break gets rid of reflect/light screen. just set it up again when this happens
taunt doesnt last for too long. when you have the opportunity you should taunt it again but this is somewhat unlikely. this is why marshadow is very good for backup

ideal raid:
turn 1) taunt if it doesnt have barrier
turn 2) set up reflect/light screen depending on which variant it is
3) survive (set up taunt/screens/other support moves again when you can)

i beat a physical one with a team of my own grimmsnarl, trick room support jellicent, cofagrigus and duraludon. this raid is only worth it if you are lacking bottle caps, ability capsules or exp candies. there are better ways to make money

if you are using lunala you should gmax automatically gmax. even at the first turn.
be careful about marshadow because mewtwo can kill it in 1 hit even using light screen/reflect.
As for marshadow, dont bother gmaxing, use marshadow to steal its boosted stats.
DO NOT use Zacian or Zammazeta as mewtwo has a fire move.

also a few things to note:
there are possibilities but i guess its mostly random
if mewtwo has shield first = special mewtwo
if mewtwo doesn't have shield first = physical mewtwo

- - - Post Merge - - -

just going to say this if you don't already know. apparently the mewtwo is lv 100. you better level up your pokemon to lv 100

I never tried mint on Toxtricity but from when I heard mints don't change it's form. It remains the same.

I think only the low key form can be modest or timid. I like the look of the other one slightly more. Amped up does get shift gear.

Of topic, I don't think one can get all the clothing options. A ball guy shirt was a tournament prize, and you get an outfit for pre-purchasing the dlc.

its seems that they aren't really making pokemon SW/SH more exciting now.
I wonder when gmax melmetal will be released yet...
