[Boltlock]
Teela held up the light to the switch she had pulled on the wall and frowned at a panel built into the wall. Picking at the edge until her fingers were starting to get raw, she managed t pull back the sheet of metal covering up a few wires. "Gas chamber...?" she read aloud. There were two rows of holes, all filled and crisscrossing to the other side with wires. She reached out and easily removed a few wires connecting to holes with "hallway", the writing barley legible. "Heh, this is kinda like a game!" she giggled to herself and glanced around with her light, and rounded another corner, spying what appeared to be an elevator in the middle of a round room. Shoving the bits of wire into her pocket, she moved forwards and pried open the glass door.

[Exit Tunnels]

Xena fell with a thud. The last thing she felt was the room shaking and her falling down. "Are you guys okay?" she managed to get out. Her right leg hurt a bit, but it was good enough to walk still. She gets up and feels around the room for it is complete darkness. "Maybe Teela had caused something? Well in any matter it must be good." she thought to herself. "Found a wall." Adren said. "We should start going in the direction of it, right?" Xena said, feeling a bit scared.

Song murmured in reply, and extending her arms, she reached out in front of her. Something hot and warm slipped down her forehead.
What the... Wiping across her head with two fingers, she peered at the dark substance covering her hand, her eyes finally adjusting slightly. Ah....blood... Song winced, but more at the word than the actual pain.

Teela slipped between the doors and since the shaft was partially narrow. Pressing her legs to one wall and her back to the other, she began the decent downwards. After what felt like an hour, she felt a cool, metal surface beneath her. She had turned off her light and had moved it back to her thigh on the way down. Kicking a few times on the wall, she flinched as she heard a crack. "Maybe they ended up out there?" she turned on the small light to peer out of the elevator. She wasn't ready to leave it's safety quite yet.

For some time, the group makes their way through the tunnels, using the wall as a guide. Adren is exhausted from the constant flurry of events happening in such a short time, but he forces himself to keep going. Suddenly, a mechanical buzzing sounds, it reminds him of a conveyor belt at a grocery store or an elevator. He hesitates, "Did you hear that?" he asks.

[Exit Tunnels]

"Heard it loud and clear". Xena replies. As they walk around more, the sound gets closer and closer. "It seems like it's really close to us, I have no idea what it could be..." she said a bit confused. "Hopefully Teela is okay."

The test shafts below were a completely separate area to the one GLaDOS had access to. Her robots had been assisting her in reactivating these areas, which is how she first discovered the human fault, but there were still many offline, and if there was no way in, there was no way out. Aperture Science had been working on a dimensional portal device, which was meant to take the user to different dimensions, but the testing of this device led to very negative consequences, and the so the project was scrapped. The destruction caused by it is the result of how old and withered the test shafts looked, if the amount of time that had passed since they were last used wasn't enough to wither it on its own.

Maintaining these areas to the best of their abilities were personality constructs, like smaller versions of GLaDOS, originally created to "dampen" GLaDOS' intelligence, and act as her conscience to stop her trying to murder the scientists with toxic gas. Swinging through the facility on their management rail, these artificial cores could still function without the facility being online, meaning the boltlocks would not work on them.

In one of the pipes, one of these cores got stuck. The glass broke, and the whole pipe came crashing down from the ceiling, blocking their path. "Howdy, folks! Be a dear and take me out of this thing, would ya? The door mainframe rejected me and I'm off to the local incinerator! Not exactly a holiday, am I right? I can help you pretty pink people!"

Adren is interrupted by a loud crashing noise, he steps back in surprise as a pipe tumbles down from above, narrowly missing the group. As the device inside of the pipe speaks, he frowns. "Help us....? How are you supposed to do that?" he looks at it distrustfully, "The last robot we met tried to kill us."

The group hears a loud crashing sound, and what they see is a robot stuck in it, saying "I can help you people, if you help me out of this first". "Should we trust this thing?" asks Xena. "I mean the last robot tried to kill us, but this one doesn't seem that bad. Maybe we can help each other and manage to get out of here".

Teela flinched at the crashing noise not far from her elevator, followed by some familiar voices. Chewing her lip, she shut the light off for a moment to kick through the glass and inch her way out. Hurrying towards the voices, she shines her light on the bot. "Are you guys alright? What is that thing?" she calls out and slowly approaches the orb.

{Exit Tunnel}

"Oh my gosh Teela you are alright!" Xena jump-hugs Teela almost causing her to fall. "We found this can of bolts around here. What has happened to you, and did you cause something to the humanoid robot with metals and wires?" Xena said.

[Exit tunnel]

"Teela? Is that you?" Adren calls, despite knowing that the other voice could belong to nobody else. "I'm glad you're alright, we were all worried!" he glances at the pipe, "The uh.... robot thing, it says that it can help us if we let it out." he says "But it could be dangerous, do you think we can risk it?"

Teela staggers backwards from the embrace she received from Xena. "I-I'm fine. When the catwalk started to fall, a chunk of it broke away between us, remember? I couldn't make that jump so I went to the right. I did pull this lightswitch, but I don't know anything about a humanoid robot." She steps away from the girl to get a better look at the robot, crouching down in front of it. "Depends."

The bot scanned the room, taking a note of everyone that was there. "If you let me out, then I will lead you to the cake!" it said, its voice and accent seeming as if it were changing every sentence. "What have you got to lose? Even if I'm lying, you're gonna die here anyway!"

{Exit Tunnel}

"What do you mean by the cake?" Xena said with slight suspicion in her voice. "I don't if we should trust this thing or what's it capable of." she said to the group. "For all we know it could make our death come faster, or it could help us."

Adren hesitates, examining the spherical device. "I don't know.... I mean, we're pretty much stuck here on our own. Maybe it can be useful in some way?" he frowns, "It could be a trick, but our odds are pretty slim anyways, you know?"

Teela reached forwards and poked the creature through the glass. "I don't like cake though." She turned off the light, deciding the orb was giving off enough light of its own. "Such a rude little robot. Do you have an off-switch?" she tilted her head as she spoke the question, her hand now moving in a stroking motion over its surface.

"I am designed to operate under conditions as low as 1.1 volts!" it responded. "I am also designed to keep these areas safe, and you are intruding! But if you let me out, I won't do what I'm supposed to do." These forgotten chambers housed thousands of artificial constructs like this, the majority designed to execute unauthorised life.

Scattered across almost every wall were scribbles, drawn with chalk, warning people to turn back and leave. A large drawing of GLaDOS hovered across the ceiling with the words "she will kill you" and "the cake is a lie" slapped on it. One would begin to wonder why a core would be travelling down a pipe from the surface in the first place.

Song started hard at the robot. "I...suppose it wouldn't hurt to just bring it along? It doesn't look particulately dangerous but..." she trailed off, her eyes moving up to Teela's face. Unable to stand looking at her any longer, Song felt an unwanted and nauseous guilt crawl up her chest.
The conversation from earlier replayed in her head. GLaDOS' terribly frightening voice, and those terrible frightened words that spilled out of Song's own mouth: "She went down the--"

She breathed out shakily.

Adren considers its words, "If it was designed to get rid of us, why would it help? I mean, it's a robot. It's not like it has feelings... can it even make decisions like that....? This has to be a trick." he shakes his head, "This seems too suspicious. I think we should just leave it."
