Reasons NOT to buy a digital copy?

You can resell a physical copy while with Digital you would have to sell the whole console

There are certain games I know I'll never sell, and that includes Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, and AC:NH. Of those three, AC:NH is the only one I would consider sacred, and would never not want access to it. Therefore, digital makes the most sense.

I have physical copies of the other 2, but they'll never leave my collection.

Honestly, I always go for the physical copy because it's easy to resell and looks nicer on my shelf. Reselling isn't an issue for Animal Crossing games though, which is why I would've considered getting it digitally if I hadn't already preordered a physical copy.

A perk of buying physical is (if you care for it) you can get gold points as well, I was thinking of going digital myself until I wanted that journal from target

My best friend talked me out of preordering it digitally, and I'm honestly a little glad that he did.

I'm buying physical copy, since I just prefer them on Switch. Having 99% of our PS4 games as digital is enough :'D

Part of me wants to buy both: digital for my current switch and physical for my AC special edition switch. Which I still need to buy. :p
I've been fully preparing to give Tom Nook Nintendo all of my money for years just for animal crossing haha

I'm planning to download digital on my new AC edition Switch and then get a physical copy for our old Switch. My fiance will play a little on our old Switch, but eventually I'm sure he'll lose interest and I'll be able to create a second island, lol. Although I'm hoping he'll stay interested for a little while because I'm dying to play with him.

I used to only ever get physical copies of games...then my kids got old enough to play games too.

To make a long story short, pretty much every physical game I had for my 3ds (ACNL included) was either lost or met a foul end in little hands.

Don't get me wrong, the kids didn't mean to and were quite young at the time, but it's turned me into a staunch supporter of digital copies.

All 4 of us have digital pre-orders of ACNH. :)

I know you want reasons to not buy digital, but I literally have none. Up until the Switch I always bought physical but then moving into an apartment where space is already limited, going digital for almost everything was easiest and saved the most space. I like having all my games together, it came in handy when I flew on an airplane and just had to keep my switch on my carry on and not worry about tiny games.

I don't just do it for games, though, I also have a Kindle to keep all my books on instead of taking up room, and the household has started buying more and more digital movies. Usually everything is backed up to an external cloud as well, so if you lose your system you still have them all in the cloud.

I feel like a lot of it comes down to personal preference, though, there's a lot of good reasons to buy physical on this forum but if you're really torn I suggest digital for convenience.
