As you've probably noticed, TBT has been loading slowly lately and you may have also received errors while posting. The whole forum was down for about an hour earlier today, which was done purposely so we could monitor the resources being used. We will be looking into a longterm solution to change servers if this continues to be an issue.
Thank you for your patience!

02/12 Update:

We had another bad day with the loading, and it was down the last hour or so, but we think we may have it solved for now, but will keep an eye on it. Let us know how it seems to work going forward.

Thank you for this notice. I hope you keep us updated, because the issues are definitely not nearly resolved.

I just assumed my computer was being garbage as usual, but this is good to know. Thank you for the notice!

Thank you, Jeremy!

By switching hosts, how would that help? Unless the problem is due to over capacity or too much traffic. Unless you mean something like changing the forum software vBullentin to like xenforo or mybb. If so, I would recommend IPB. Beautiful forum look, customizable, and tons of hooks/plugins/etc! X

If we do switch to another forum software, will that have any impact on the blogs previously created on this site?

A lot of forum softwares provide a tool to convert databases from another forum software to support their own. Plus, I'm pretty sure Jeremy meant like the hosting server.

Thanks for the update! I was a little concerned. Glad to hear the staff has these issues under close watch :)

Yeah, it's still really bad, I've been booted after posting three times now, and it send me to the Resetti error and I can't get back to the site without clearing my browser so it's been really sad, and then when I get back on the post I had written out and posted isn't posted OR auto-saved so it's really cruddy. =[ Hopefully it will be resolved soon cause it makes the site painful to use.

When you mean change servers, does that mean transferring this site off of vBulletin?

Thank you, Jeremy!

Nah, he doesn't mean switching software packages. Just the host (DigitalOcean, HostGator, HostMonster, etc.).

No plans for switching forum software in the near future. Just swapping server potentially.

Good morning everyone-

I am finally able to login after many attempts over the last few days. It was extremely difficult trying to navigate around the forum, so I have just been waiting it out until whatever the issues are can be resolved. It is still loading very slow now for me.........but to ensure that my post isn't lost before getting posted I think I will copy it (so I don't have to rewrite/remember what I wrote). Hope all is resolved before the next event. Good luck everyone and have a great afternoon.

Thank you all so much for keeping us informed and working so hard on these issues! I don't know if this information will help or not but I thought I'd mention it. I don't know why but the forum hasn't crashed on me when I'm not logged in. If I just want to check Retail or the Train station I don't log in and it works fine. The crashes and lag only happen when I'm logged in. Anyway, like I said - I don't know if that info will be on any help but I wanted to pass it on. Thanks again!

Yes, thanks Valzed, I forgot about that! That is true for me, too. :)
