A rumor that's going around says that the Wii may have advanced voice recognition on first-party games. It supposedly uses technology Nintendo has been working on for years.

EDIT: And Fils-Aime confirmed Wii will have free online play. That is all.

Double EDIT:
Another pre-launch battle is about to be waged between Sony and Nintendo towards the end of this month. The battlefield - Germany's Leipzig Games Convention 2006, taking place between August 23-27. Nintendo has already promised to make a big announcement at the show (hopefully relating to the Wii launch date), but the question is: will the two next-gen consoles be playable at GC 2006?
According to a couple of stories from DarkZero, not... entirely. Even though both companies will have their own booth at the show, it appears that none of Sony's PS3 launch titles will be playable at GC, and only select members of the press and retail will be allowed to get a hold of Nintendo's Wii.

Let's list off some facts.

1) Nintendo's had a patent which enables voice-to-text in online games, but with added pizzazz - the text changes color/size/something else depending on how you say a word, i.e., if you yell out "WOW!!", then the other person will see "Wow" in red and in giant font.

2) And it's true that the Wii will NOT be playable to the general public. Definitely true.

Yeah, I seen that on that site, too. If you whisper, the text will be small. Sounds great.
