I'm super new and don't know anything.

Anyways I've caught up. I inherently don't have anything against someone revealing their weapon early, since it seems the mafia have "active skills" vs passive ones.

I mean it doesn't help that the weapons aren't even alignment specific, simply imply the mechanics of a weapon.

What do you mean by active/passive, and curious how we'd know that? Yeah, weapon reveal in itself is not AI, (but safer to keep strong pr out of the spotlight,) imo.

So far, I'm thinking ghost is town, possibly shell.
Looking at the past couple games, town!shell and wolf!shell look the exact same to me....if you have any maf tells, shell, I haven't found them yet...

Not seeing much from caff or elundor- maybe they'll be posting while I'm sleeping, lol.

Also, I believe we still need one more egg? I can't collect because, like the holy grail, I've already got one....(too old a reference to be funny? No?)

It’s hard to say on day 1 cause everything is just speculation, but I agree ghost seems pretty town. I think tessa seems pretty town too. Not sure about Shell yet. At this point I just wanna see the light of day two

Ghost is town most likely. He wouldn't be so bold with a mafia partner who would most likely advise him.
Honestly i don't know shawo's play style, but even though we've disagreed on some topics he feels town to me. He's also relying on his death to prove points and thoughts (at least he said he was gonna die eventually) so that reads town imo
Betsy feels bolder than when she played as maf last time. For now, town.

I concur that Ghost seems town, I haven't been able to deduce much else.. aside from shawo seems SUS to me... can't put a finger exactly why though. As Caff said - hard to tell too much on day one. Gut instinct is telling me to out Shawo though for what that's worth. I'm new as well so take it with a grain of salt.

how do we know the weapons aren't alignment specific though, wouldn't salmonids have... LASERFISH or CAR???

I was gonna go search to see if tessa had it right that he wasn't new. The reason I asked was because I figured only a newbie would come in and right away claim an 'important' pr. Nobody in a reg game would come in d1 and say hey, I'm the cop, don't vote me! My instincts...ever so inaccurate....

Lightly town-reading Tessa and Shell so far. I know Shell's got a strong mafia game, but she seems like she's trying to figure things out right now. I liked Tessa's opening, and I'm hoping to see more of the solviness she promised.

Shawo is pinging me for the certainty in their comment about passive vs active abilities since the only things we know for sure right now are our own role PMs and Ghost's flavor that he told us, and I'm not really drawing any conclusions either way about what the salmonids may or may not have from just that. But it could just be that something in Shawo's PM meshes with their idea of Ghost's potential ability and is leading them to be more certain of things than I'm comfortable being right now. Mehhh

I'm also a little pinged by b100ming since I just really don't like the 'cover weapon' monkey wrench she threw into the works. It just seems needlessly paranoid in a wolf-sided way since it just makes it difficult for townies to claw themselves out of a miselim. If they try to say their ability is like a doctor or a vig, the salmonids can just say 'fake news, that's just your cover weapon' and get an easy day kill that way.

I've got some other feelings percolating, but nothing super strong. This kinda feels like the dethy where I'm curious to see how the different abilities make the game play differently than a standard mountainous/cop 9er.

Funnily enough, I had a game recently where a very experienced player did just that, claimed cop in their first post of the game; it ended up failing because the real cop was a newbie who panicked and claimed when they had one vote on them less than 24 hours into day one.

To me it felt more like an observation versus an accusation. I'm not necessarily townreading blooming, but I think she was just trying to point something out for town. It did feel like something that at we could've assumed, though. (at least i considered it at the start of game)

I do not like the unsureness of b100ming talking about her weapon/pr thingy. It felt almost subtle enough to reassure us that she's town without giving away too much and being called out for faking an ability.
So for bloom: If you're not sure the power of your ability, will you collect golden eggs?

Also the no elim from b100m and ghost's quick follow up- what was you're thoughts for that vote?

Rather than a certainty in mechanics, I'm simply reaching a conclusion based on the design of this game. Droqen strikes me as the type of person to have designed a game with 9 active abilities to balance it around the egg mechanic. To clarify - I specifically think the MAFIA don't have an active ability. Also Shell strikes a good point IE: salmonids probably are just an actual salmonid. I actually think the weapon thing was a real reach. I just assumed that there wouldn't be any meta claiming. (Mafia being forced to guess flavor to be proven town.)

Also we should probably kill someone today. I'll out my ability if it means I won't die, since if I can get it off just once I'm set. But granted, I don't expect to die either. I'll pick someone to push at some point today as well.

gonna take a gamble here and trust, @shawo my weapon is your main*. if i'm guessing correctly what you might have (or at least some mechanics of your ability), and you understand what i have... i think i could help you

as for picking someone to vote off: i agree. i'm currently most sus of b100ming. usually she's more active d1 along with ghost, but recently she's really silent... also the cover weapon thing

Question from a noob, why would we elim someone on day one when we have no evidence to go on? The possibility of us voting off a inkling is so much higher.

Not saying I’m not willing, just want to understand why we’re willing to sacrifice one of our own?
