Pokémon Shiny Hunting Experience

Would you still catch the shiny if you were able to find out it's ability before you capture it?
Whenever I'm looking for a certain hidden ability, I always bring with me a pokemon that either have an ability that shows the pokemon's ability or a move like skill swap, though since it's a shiny, I might still capture it either way and giveaway on her probably.
That shiny Salandit sounds adorable though, I wouldn't mind finding a male shiny cause I still like it's small form.

Mmm, I use Tapu Lele and Mismagius for checking abilities in SOS, and usually use Pangoro and Dusklops for the chaining. But I always catch a shiny if I encounter it. I do like to keep their abilities a surprise though, makes them more of a treat.
Yeah that's true, course if I'm just wanting to get a shiny, I'll won't check the ability, but if I'm searching for a non shiny I will use like skill swap to check after a few chains.
how much would you want for it?
This was a while back, but it's so crazy that I have to share. I was masuda methoding a shiny trapinch and finally hatched a male one! But right after I hatched it, the next egg that hatched was another shiny trapinch (female)!! So I hatched two consecutive shinies (basically twins) o: What are the odds?? Still can't believe that happened.

Last night I downloaded the demo for Let's Go! on my Switch, and while playing it I discovered that the game functions in pretty much exactly the same way as the actual game. More specifically, I found that the catch combo was still present in the demo. So I decided to chain a bunch of Pidgeys to see if I could get a shiny after a catch combo of 31, and sure enough, I did!
I didn't get to see it sparkle since it spawned right next to my player and immediately went into a battle with me, but yeah I was really hyped to find my first shiny Pokemon in Let's Go!
I couldn't keep it because it was a demo (rip shiny pidge) but I do plan on getting the game now so I can do some more shiny hunting

I've been hunting in the friend safari. My two most recent catches are lampent and pansage. My favorite shiny ever has to be my shiny starter treecko girl in Alpha Sapphire that only took me 72 soft resets to get

Omg guys, I caught a shiny female Azurill in Pokemon Y by total chance (and without the shiny charm because I just started the game)!! I was doing a Pokemon Y Wonderlocke challenge and happened to encounter it on route 3 with Gligar. Switched out into Oddish and poisoned it to catch it. I’ve never encountered a shiny before, much less caught one, so I’m soooo happy right now. Because it’s female, will turn gold-colored as an Azumarill, and will be a physical attacker, I nicknamed it Leone, my favorite character from Akame ga Kill.
Now I released all my other Pokemon and am going to do a solo challenge with my first ever shiny Pokemon.

Yeah, poisoning it was risky, but I didn’t know any other way to catch it easily. Thankfully after it breaking out a couple times, it stayed in the pokeball at around half health and I captured it successfully. Thank you by the way!

One time I got two (clearly hacked) shiny Aipoms from the same person on Wonder Trade, I think I kept one but I released the other one.

I was Chansey chaining and the shiny took itself out with struggle just as I was about to try and catch it.

Since finding a shiny Aerodactyl on GO on Pok?mon Day and subsequently transferring it to Let's GO, I've now also caught a shiny Diglett (now a Dugtrio, also now on Let's GO), a shiny Aipom, and most importantly, a shiny Ho-Oh! So glad that Pok?mon Home was only announced a couple of days later, I can't wait to send it over to my Switch when Sword & Shield are released.
