Since it’s getting closer to Christmas, what’s your fav Christmas movie?

the nightmare before christmas, a christmas story, the santa clause and home alone are my top favs that i watch every december. i also love the old rankin bass movies! i adore stop motion animation and was absolutely fascinated by them when i was little. i haven't watched them in a billion years tho so maybe i'll have to do that next month

I'll go with the Nightmare before christmas as well! I haven't watched a lot of classic christmas movies but this one I really enjoy!

1. Die Hard
2. Elf
3. Nightmare before christmas

Scrooged is my favorite. I thought it was funny when I was younger and a fun twist on The Nightmare Before Christmas formula.

The Polar Express, A Christmas Story, and The Santa Clause trilogy will always be my favourite Christmas movies. I've only gotten into A Christmas Story during the past few years (though it's always been quoted religiously by my parents lol), but I've loved The Polar Express and The Santa Clause trilogy since I was a kid. I have so many fond memories of watching them growing up; I used to listen to "When Christmas Comes to Town" from The Polar Express on repeat. 🥹

The Polar Express' animation style isn't my favourite these days, but like with Monster House, I still think its style adds to its charm! My mom and I usually watch it at least once every holiday season (along with A Christmas Story), and I'm hoping to watch The Santa Clause trilogy this year as well! It's been a while since I've seen the movies in full, and I still haven't watched the series on Disney+ yet!

I also love The Ref, Jim Carrey's How the Grinch Stole Christmas (love the 1966 animated version, too!), and Ruldoph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964)! The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my all-time favourite movies as well, but it's more of a Halloween movie for me.

My mom and I have made it a tradition to watch While You Were Sleeping and Elf each year, so those are my favourites by default. I also really love The Christmas Chronicles, The Princess Switch, and The Grinch.

There's a certain set of movies that absolutely MUST be watched in my house every year: A Christmas Story (the best Christmas movie ever made, which my mom and I can quote every line of perfectly), The Grinch (the Jim Carrey movie, naturally), Elf, both Home Alone movies, both Santa Clause movies, The Nightmare Before Christmas, It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street (the original from the 40s), A Muppet Christmas Carol, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and The Polar Express. Nightmare and Polar Express are typically watched just by my sister and I, while my mom and I seem to be the only ones with the patience to sit through a three-hour black-and-white film, so It's a Wonderful Life is our thing together--we feel the only right way to watch it is in its original format, but we prefer the colourized version of Miracle on 34th Street. I also make sure to put on Tokyo Godfathers and the Robert Zemmeckis version of A Christmas Carol, which I typically end up watching by myself, but my mom said she'll watch the former with me this year because it's been long enough that she forgets most of what happened in it. I also watched Mixed Nuts and finally watched Die Hard on Christmas for the first time last year, and I want to repeat that, I'm tempted to join the trend of ironic-watching Jingle All the Way just because of how memetic it is, and I'm also a big fan of Scrooged, Arthur Christmas, Barbie and the Nutcracker, and Bad Santa. And all that's before getting into things more traditionally classed as Christmas specials as opposed to movies!

Lol just realised I never actually replied to this thread's question.

My favourite Christmas movies are The Santa Clause (1, 2, 3), How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the animated one, not the live action), Nativity (1 & 2, but not 3. And don't even mention the 4th, that was a horror), and Elf.

There are a few good christmas movies, but if I had to pick one, I would probably just go with The Santa Clause with Tim Allen. It has alot of nostalgia for me.
My spouse's favorite is The Family Man with Nicolas Cage. He has to watch it multiple times every December because he loves it so much.

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Elf, Frosty the Snow Man and Olive the other Reindeer are my favorite Christmas movies.
