Make sure your Nookphone is charged and ready because you are about to go searching on islands high and low to snap the perfect picture! This challenge is all about having a keen eye, the perfect timing, and a dash of creativity!
How to Play Throughout the fair there will be several photo challenges you will have to complete in an in-game scavenger and safari style expedition! Make sure you check this thread regularly for the new prompt as there is a period for submission for each challenge.
For each challenge you must submit two photos. The first photo must be the challenge submission with your island rep present in the picture. The second photo must be an additional photo of your island rep in the same location with your TBT username typed out in-game. This is to check that the photo was taken specifically for this event and not an old photo. Both photos must match and must not be edited on any way. Here is an example below of an acceptable submission:
#2. Take a picture with a shark while swimming in the ocean
For some of these photos it is not required for it to be taken on your own island. You may visit friends or even visit dream towns to acquire some of these starry snaps, as long as you submit the required set of photos. Staff favourites will only be awarded to prompts #1 and #6. Make sure you are as creative as possible for these challenges! (Think decorations, clothing, island rep interactions, etc!)
Rules - Photos must be your own and taken specifically for this challenge. You must submit the required set for each challenge (one submission photo, one TBT username photo)
- No in-game filters, editing, cropping, etc. Please submit them as is directly from your screenshots.
- Your photo should not have another character present, only yourself.
- Harvey's photo studio is not allowed for any the prompts

#2. Take a picture with a citrus long-horn beetle
- Photo may be taken in your island/mystery island, a friend's island, or a dream island. Please make sure you include the photo with your TBT username along with your submission photo.
- TBT username submission does not have to have the long-horn beetle in it (if you accidentally scare it away)
- Please make sure your island rep is present in both submission photo and username photo. If you are visiting a friend’s town, please take individual photos and do not submit photos together where both players are present.
- Photo must be taken in the wild, displayed caught critters are not allowed. No catching and “showing off” the beetle.

- Screenshot must feature both a shark shadow and your island rep swimming in a wet suit
- Photo may be taken on your island/mystery island, a friend's island, or a dream island. Please make sure you include the photo with your TBT username along with your submission photo.
- Please make sure your island rep is present in both submission photo and username photo. If you are visiting a friend’s town, please take individual photos and do not submit photos together where both players are present.
August 27
- Screenshot must feature your rep in a group of flowers or a field of flowers, wearing an outfit that matches the flowers
- There must be a minimum amount of 10 flowers in your screenshot. They do not all have to be the same colour flower, but your outfit must match the flowers in the screenshot (eg. Black flower field & black outfit / Pink, white, and blue flower field & pink, white, and blue outfit etc.) Shoes don't count.
- Please make sure yoru rep is present in both submission photo and username photo
- Photo may be taken on your island, a friend's island, or a dream island. Please make sure you include the photo with your TBT username along with your submission photo.
August 30
- Screenshot must feature your rep in an outdoor space with at least 5 or more star fragments or furniture resembling a star fragment (eg. nova light or star clock)
- Photo can be taken at night time or during the day
- Please make sure your rep is present in both submission photo and username photo
- Photo may be taken on your island, a friend's island, or a dream island. Please make sure you include the photo with your TBT username along with your submission photo.
September 2
6. Take a photo with a tank-free critter [Staff Favourite!]

- Photo must contain your rep with one or more critters that display without tanks/aquariums. Eg. Horseshoe crab, Snapping turtles, Spider crabs, and even bucket critters like isopods and soft-shell turtles. No models.
- Screenshot must be taken on your own island and must be an outdoor space
- We will be looking at the overall scene/decoration/and interaction with your tank-free friend for staff favourites! So make sure you are submitting your absolute favourite space + idea if you are aiming for something more than a participation photo~
- Please remember to include two photos: your submission photo and your username photo. I will only be judging the submission photo but username photo is required.
Important notice about photo submissions: I have been lenient with accepting entries where only a username card is submitted, as long as the username card photo fulfils the requirements of the prompt. But I prefer you submit two photos for every prompt. Staff Favourite rounds will only consider photos with both submissions and will be judged by the submission photo.
#7. Take a photo with something your rep would like to eat!
- Photo must contain your rep with one or more food items. It can be in an outdoor or indoor setting.
- Food items can be actual food, hats that resemble food, and even designs/QR codes on customised furniture/hats that made to look like food (picture must contain food but you can have drinks in the photo as well!)
- Photo can be taken on your own island, dream island, or a friend's island.
How to Submit
To submit your entry, simply post in this thread with your photos. Your entry will be "liked" by me after it is submitted and accepted. No editing entry subject matter after it is submitted unless asked by the host. If asked to resubmit for any reason, please make a new post instead of editing a previous post.
Please make sure you post your entries in this thread by Wednesday Sept 9th, 11:59pm FT. Any entries posted after 11:59pm FT will not be counted.
