I’m referring to shoes specifically, but feel free to comment on other articles of clothing if you’d like. Do you prefer to go for aesthetics and style over comfort? I almost always go for comfort, honestly, with style taken into consideration.

I know some people wear converse, but they are the most uncomfortable shoe in my opinion. I prefer shoes that are comfortable to wear. Although converse and Air Force 1 shoes are cool-looking, I couldn’t wear them for long periods of time. I know they are popular but I find it hard to believe that people actually find these shoes comfortable to wear.

I personally wear the Nike Pegasus line. They are breathable for me and I like the style. They are one of the more comfortable shoes I’ve worn. How about you? Do you tend to go for style or comfort, or a bit of both?

On the poll, vote for what is most important for you. For me, I’d say I’m 80% on comfort, and 20% on style/aesthetics.

I vastly prioritize comfort over appearance. Unless a pair of shoes is hideous I won’t avoid it. The reason is I have a foot shape that most shoe designers don’t accommodate for. My feet are very flat and very wide. Nearly every pair I try is either too narrow or too high. Shoe shopping usually takes me at least an hour as an result. When it’s that hard to find something that fits I’m going to be at least a bit forgiving with appearance.

I value comfort over style. Regardless if you wear high heels or not, ill-fitted shoes will lead to ingrown toenails. Trust me, you do not want to recover from surgery for that.

I vote for comfort in all of my regular clothing, but especially shoes. An uncomfortable pair of shoes can make my whole day miserable.

For daily wear, I have a pair of Skechers sneakers and a pair of Timberland boots. I find them both comfortable for different reasons. The sneakers have a really nice memory foam insole that helps when I have to be on my feet all day. The boots give me really good ankle support.

I also have a pair of high-heeled boots from Skechers that are surprisingly comfortable. They are my go-to shoes when I have to dress up just a bit, like business casual attire.

I do like the look of my shoes, but it's not the first thing I look for. I narrow it down based on function and comfort first, then select the pair that looks the best out of my short list.

For shoes specifically, definitely comfort! I don't think that means they can't be stylish though! I think Converse are OK for comfort (for me). 😊

For daily wear/work I generally wear black boots with a low heel. I also like structured flats (not the thin, flimsy kind) if I don't need closed-in shoes, but the kind that also have a low heel (so not really flats?).

I usually keep two pairs of Converse at a time, but at the moment I think I only have one. My current favourites are the low top white Converse with gold detailing. 😍

For walking in mud/grass/the forest, I have a pair of slip-on Converse sneakers, and for running, I have a pair of New Balance runners that I bought specifically for comfort! This specific pair of sneakers are super breathable and very comfortable to run in!

I didn't really know I had a shoe preference, but I guess I do.

95% comfort. There are some shoe styles that I won't touch simply because I hate the look of them (and hate the look of them on me,) but more than anything I want to have shoes that are comfortable to walk in for long periods of time.

My arches are slanted and my big toes are significantly longer than my other toes so I need shoes that will support me; otherwise, I'm left with sores on my feet and a significant portion of my body will pay the price in pain. I'd like to avoid that whenever possible.

Thankfully, there are some shoes that deliver both comfort and, for the most part, style (I do have custom insoles though that help a lot!)

for work, its absolutely comfort for me. i dont need to be on my feet anymore but when i did, i had uggo crocs that were comfy as heck for long shifts.
style is for pictures or comm meets, thats all lol

I find that it isn't too hard to obtain both...so I usually go for both. That said...if something is not my style, then it is impossible for me to feel comfortable wearing it anyway. Granted, this is a different kind of "comfort"...but, if I feel self conscious or self-aware the whole time about something I'm wearing, then it is impossible for me to continue wearing it.

For the most part, comfortability. I do wear nicer uncomfy shoes depending on the event.

Both if possible, especially for shoes. Even if there are more and more nice sneakers most are still rather ugly AND uncomfy and breaks easily so, could as well get a nice looking pair lol.

As for pants, definitely style. I hate cozy/pjs pants or stuff and always go for stylish. Could as well show off that peach LOL.

I'm a little of both? I don't really go for heels because I'm already relatively tall, but I have a huge sneaker collection, some of which are more comfy than others. I have multiple pairs of "sportstyle"-type shoes that look incredible but will definitely hurt my feet if I wear them for long periods of time. I guess I favor a few different models from more trendy athletic shoe brands (On Cloud, Hoka, etc.) but my go-to for distance running is and will always be the Asics Noosa line. For everyday wear, I like low profile styles like Veja or Voile Blanche.

Before I became a mom, I would’ve said style. That, and I don’t go anywhere where style would win out over comfort. If I’m going somewhere, it’s likely a doctor’s appointment for me or my son. Now, I’d say comfort makes up 90% of a shoe decision for me. I mean, I don’t want it to be hideous, but I’ll sacrifice a little style for more certain comfort.

Comfort, of course. I feel like when people buy new and trendy shoes they worry too much about ruining or 'creasing' them. I'd rather not fuss about that and wear whatever won't destroy my feet. (I had a pair of Converse a few years ago . . . Yeah they looked pretty cool but it also felt like my feet were in a fricking casket. In other words, my slight exaggeration of shoe discomfort.)

As for clothes, it's essentially the same thing - Sometimes I fret over how I look in a certain article of clothing (not a fan of sweaters with tight sleeves, for example), but at the same time I wear hoodies and sweatpants (or pyjama pants if I can get away with it) 99% of the time anyways.

I understand that part. I like my shoes to look brand new, which is part of the reason I prefer black rubber (as opposed to white) on the shoes. My new pair of shoes will have white rubber. I’ll just be extra careful with them and try to clean them everyday. I definitely wouldn’t want visible dirt on any part of my shoes other than the bottom because we walk on that, lol.

Comfort. I do a lot of laborious work, so I want shoes that are equipped for the job and are also comfortable. Even every day it's comfort. Most people don't look down at people's feet anyway. I'm not going to wear shoes that look like they're falling apart, but I'm not going to wear uncomfortable fashion shoes either.

I know a lot of people who wear shoes that are falling apart and probably not good for their arches/foot posture in order to save money and I think that is just as silly as putting your feet in pain for fashion.
