I’m a mix of both. I wear somewhat stylish shoes from popular brands (Vans, Puma, Doc Martin’s etc). But I won’t buy or wear shoes that are uncomfortable as I can’t stand uncomfortable shoes.

Comfort. I have big feet(size 15 US) and finding shoes in that size that are stylish as well as comfortable is a bit hard, so I don't even bother w/ style. Same w/ clothes.

I will be honest.... I love my style 😅 If something is super fab to me and I really like it I will wear it over something more comfortable! If it something REALLY uncomfortable I WILL NOT WEAR IT im looking at you green hiking shoes that give me blisters but for the most part I will wear stuff that looks nice and is comfortable as I really only buy shoes in person so I can try them on before purchasing!

I’m referring to shoes specifically, but feel free to comment on other articles of clothing if you’d like. Do you prefer to go for aesthetics and style over comfort? I almost always go for comfort, honestly, with style taken into consideration.

I know some people wear converse, but they are the most uncomfortable shoe in my opinion. I prefer shoes that are comfortable to wear. Although converse and Air Force 1 shoes are cool-looking, I couldn’t wear them for long periods of time. I know they are popular but I find it hard to believe that people actually find these shoes comfortable to wear.

I personally wear the Nike Pegasus line. They are breathable for me and I like the style. They are one of the more comfortable shoes I’ve worn. How about you? Do you tend to go for style or comfort, or a bit of both?

On the poll, vote for what is most important for you. For me, I’d say I’m 80% on comfort, and 20% on style/aesthetics.
interesting, because i actually find my converse shoes to be comfy. but it really depends on the person i guess.

my preferences vary on the mood and situation that i will be in, but i lean more on style/aesthetics, and then make a solution to make it comfortable, like using long socks for my doc martens so i don't get another wound on the back of my leg again

I'm definitely style. I'm really particular and extra when it comes to fashion, and the three main shoes I wear are Doc Marten Boots, Doc Marten Mary Janes, and pair of loafers. I've even wore heels to school a couple times, too. I have a high pain tolerance so I don't mind being in pain if it means I look cute that day lol

I like both, comfortable + stylish! My shoe style is pretty casual anyway, I wear a lot of boots and trainers/sneakers. Interestingly I think my converse are one of the comfiest pairs of shoes I own,,,I also have Doc Martens, Buffalos, and adidas. Doc Martens, granted, are a killer on your feet to break in 😅

I can’t pick just one. When I’m home and around family and close friends, definitely comfort! I rip off my more stylish but uncomfortable stuff as soon as I cross the doorstep at home. When I go out however, I like to dress put together and I guess preppy? So when I’m out and about style goes first. I could never ever go out in sweatpants and slippers. I don’t care what other people wear, but I hate being judged so I try to make an effort to look well dressed.

I like my shoes not to cause my feet to bleed from just wearing them for an hour or so. I had a pair that actually had the back of the shoe cut into the back of my ankle and cause it to bleed. These were brand new shoes and I couldn’t change them as I was already in California on a trip to visit my mom and had no other pairs of shoes with me. It was miserable and I had to wear two pairs of socks just to keep these things from hurting me which was even more uncomfortable because my feet were getting hot twice as fast and my foot was too padded to go 8nto the shoe without forcing it.

For shoes, both for me, really. I mainly wear comfortable but cool looking basketball shoes. Lebrons. Expensive but fashionable. The big plus for me is that they never really get old, they last forever without any real wear and tear.

For other clothing, definitely comfort.

I wear very plain clothes so definitely comfort. I sometimes like getting tees with cool graphics but I’ve never been one to dress up fancily.

i'm gonna say style, i mostly wear my pairs of vans in the warm months and i think theyre fire, but also really comfortable. In winter i wear blundstones, also nice looking and comfortable 😀

Comfort all the way. But if it happens to look good then that's nice too, of course. I mean, I want to feel good in what I wear but I'm also not trying to look like a slob either lol you won't see me dropping $200+ on a pair of shoes just because it's top brand or hip and cool or whatever. On very special occasions, though, I may pick style over comfort, but not by a lot. I don't do dresses or skirts, ever.

It's good to see that most are willing to go with comfort with style than just straight up style and pain. There's no reason that designers can't make both work together.

I choose comfort over style with both my jobs and everyday. There are some exceptions like when I do reenactments, I want to make sure my uniform is up to code because I'm supposed to be portraying the elite soliders and we can't just waltz up looking like we rolled in pig mud. But mostly it's comfort, but I still make sure that I look professional/presentable. Not for anyone in particular, just because I don't want to look like dirty.

both. i love wearing cute and stylish stuff but i must make sure it's comfortable, otherwise i'd be upset for the entire day.

I think it depends on the situation but most of the time I'm choosing comfort over style for shoes. There's a saying that you've gotta invest in things that separate you from the ground (like chairs, shoes, beds, and car tires) and I highly agree. I can walk so much more in my sneakers than I can in my Doc Martens, so when I know I need to be walking or on my feet, I'll wear sneakers even though they're kinda... ugly. Saves me a blister and a damanged nail bed!

Comfort!

One of my favorite things about living in a city now where I'm relatively anonymous is being able to leave my house in whatever I want and not worrying what people I know may think lol.

I like to get dressed up sometimes, but even then it can't be too uncomfortable. Maybe in part because of my ADHD I'm very sensitive to touch, so I'm particular about what fabrics I wear, how tight clothing is, etc. Oh, and I hate anything on my neck. Don't like having my neck touched. But once in a while I will put up with a turtleneck for ✨style✨ if I can stretch it out a bit

edit: oops grabbed this from similar threads, didn't realize how old the last post was

I am a very "function over form" kind of person. To tell the truth, I honestly don't really care about my appearance at all. Aside from specific circumstances, I will always go for comfort and functionality over style. The poll specifically mentions shoes, and on that front style means even less to me than comfort.
