[Suggestion] Post Upvote System

Here's an example from another forum I used to visit:

There is a small [+] in the top right of the post, and people who have hit this button are displayed along the bottom of the post.

The way they have circumvented abuse on that site is by removing the [-] option and simply left the [+] option. It's similar to liking a post on Facebook. You can remove the like if you so choose by hitting the [+] button once more.

I don't know if this is possible for a vBulletin forum, or how much work it would be if it was, but I think it'd be neat.

Some might say things like 'this isn't facebook, blah blah blah', but I've always liked the idea of a button like this on TBT. If it were possible, then I'd agree for one.

The only thing I ask though... What's to gain from a 'like' on TBT? Is it just to help us to express ourselves?

As long as people didn't start saying things like "like this is you agree" or "like this if you disagree" etc, because then it really would be turning into facebook...

actually the wildstar forums have it, you like posts and they acn become popular
but its not like it does anything iguess

Well I guess for one thing, people will feel that their post is appreciated. Really, I think it's just some nifty feature to add. If you wanted to make it more useful, then maybe earning 1 TBT bell per like. I don't even know if that's possible anyway, and it could be abused.

Love, as soon as you give people the ability to judge the things you say, you become restricted out of the fear you're going to be silently rejected. That isn't fair on anyone new coming here.
