Welcome to island life on Tansan. Tansan (est. March 20, 2020) is a cosy beach town with a little bit of everything. This journal will mainly consist of photo posts of my completed island, HHP, and the occasional longer entry here and there. You can read about my island early days in my old journal. Goodbye Freya
​

Freya's goodbye dinner party ​

Today we finally say goodbye to Tansan's long time resident, Freya. Freya was my first Snooty villager that I came across on a mystery island. I didn't know how she would adapt to island life, as we only heard rumours about her previous lavish lifestyle and messy divorce. I figured it wouldn't be long until she got sick of the dirt and sand and would leave on a private jet back to her homeland. However, she quickly became an integral part of the island's development, opening up Tansan's first flower shop and humble Laundromat which she has ran and operated all on her own for 2 years. She was an auntie figure to all of our baby residents and regularly had us over for dinner parties and tea time. After I helped her build her extravagant holiday home, she had apparently revived her love for the culinary arts and her dream of opening her own Franklin-star restaurant. She bought out the restaurant on the holiday island and plans to start a franchise empire. I always wondered how she had the funds to buy so much property, but now I'm realising that she may have been laundering money. Keep on hustlin' Freya, you will be missed! (March 2020 - May 2022)

Apparently she met a certain squirrel on one of her holidays who she has convinced into taking over her businesses on Tansan... I wonder who it is. I will post about Freya’s HHP Holiday home once I fix them up properly, but for now you can take a peek at her current HHP home here: RA-4182-5590-0275. I'm glad I can visit her there in the future!

Welcoming Tasha on Laundry Day

​

It was laundry day today, so I thought it would be the perfect time to write a longer journal entry and introduce Tansan’s newest villager, Tasha! After two years of being Tansan’s snooty and sole proprietor of the Laundromat, Freya has finally passed the mantle to a worthy snoot. I guess a laundromat is a fitting business for a skunk?

The Laundromat is located in Tansan's "beach town" district near the airport and by the bridge connecting to the rural area. To the left of it is the GS25 convenient store and above it is the entrance to the largest villager district. The placement of these shops was inspired by my old neighbourhood in Korea. Back then it was rare to have self-serve Laundromats and instead they had dry cleaning services. But now I hear coin laundry places are in, so Tansan is following the trend too! Plus who are we kidding, Freya and Tasha would never clean anyone's dirty underwear!

I met Ursala at the Laundromat too! After some small talk we waited in silence awkwardly. Apparently 1-minute in laundry time is not actually a minute long and staring at it doesn't make time pass any faster.

Before leaving, Ursala realised that she forgot to add her skirt to the load and gifted it to me instead, stains and all. Not exactly my style, but I guess it's better than a baby romper. Afterwards I checked in on Tasha to see how she was liking her new stylish home.

The first thing I did when Tasha moved in was give her house a makeover! We kept the exterior the same to match Freya’s old vision, but she insisted on changing Freya’s pink door to blue to match her own stylish hairdo! I actually had plans to move Tasha in when the 2.0 update dropped, but I was feeling sentimental and lazy and delayed it. Then a few days ago, Tasha showed up at my camp site. I attempted to move her in "naturally", but whenever I got past the ridiculous mind card games she always insisted on kicking Ken out. What does she have against Ken?! I got sick of that quickly and decided to scan her in with my amiibo card. While redecorating her interior, I made sure to include the 3 things that Tasha asked for as souvenirs when she came camping - an aurora pot, an unglazed dish set, and an imperial pot! Tasha is wondering why her unglazed dish set souvenir is suddenly glazed.


Anyways, I'm excited to have a fresh new face on my island, even though I miss Freya already. I wanted to keep some of Freya's old stuff to remember her by, like her pink car and her favourite pink washing machine! Welcome to Tansan Tasha!

A Home Full of Appliances
for
Kitt

I wanted to experiment with creating doors using accented backgrounds and partition walls instead of door QRs on simple panels or glow in the dark stickers (I'm too lazy to play around with those at the moment). I love the results of this!! I forgot that Kitt has a little Joey, so I threw some toys around the house as an afterthought.
