My entry! Hopefully I'm doing this right!
Saw these flowers when I was walking by somewhere! Thought they were real pretty!

Managed to snap this photo of a lovely spring azure butterfly, perched on some of the dichondra in our yard! I've always loved the variety of grasses and little plants we have here—they'd make for lovely forests if they were huge or we were tiny.
If you look really closely in the shadows right below the dichondra the butterfly is on, you can see just a tiny glimpse of a couple wild strawberries too!

Well, this is all natural in my backyard. Because of the hybrid event, I wanted to take a fun picture of my cannas. These are my favorites because no matter what happens whether it be a freeze or a drought they never die. We don’t have to do anything with them and they can go completely to the ground due to weather, but they always come back. A very dear friend of mine just lost a couple of her birds and whenever they have to bury a pet in their backyard, they always put a new plant where they bury them and she has cannas as well but hers are a different color than mine. So I will be digging up some of my baby cannas for her to plant, which might actually grow her some hybrid colors between hers and mine. This particular picture is a new stalk (with more in the middle!) that just came up in the last couple of weeks so I will be bringing it to her this weekend.

Tonight there was such a gorgeous sunset & a full moon right over the ocean 🌕 I currently live on a tiny island off the coast of Jersey, and tonight we were so blessed with a beautiful night!! Had to run down to the beach to snag a couple of shots. Love this event, happy Earth Day!

This sounds idyllic and I would love to have running access to a beach😭 what a lovely sunset (though I don’t envy that it was cold enough to require long sleeves)!

Great event for me, if i actually had somewhere to take a picture of…
perhaps in the future there could be an event with video game screenshots (any game I guess), and instead of just beauty (as some games are naturally of higher quality than others) it would be voted on by pure photography skill. Just spitballing, photography always sounds fun to me, I just never have anything to take a photo of.
The sky counts as nature? 😉
Even macro photography up close to a single plant would work… it’s a quick 80tbt!

Bluebells are the fruit of nature, a blessing in disguise, a flower of love and gratitude.

question about this thread
is this thread in the wrong board? I thought that it would be in the bulletin board tbh
This is the intended location! We used to place more minor events or announcements in the HQ quite often, although I suppose not so much lately.

Actually tried to get the raccoon to come down the other night so I could try to get a picture of him. My oldest and I communicate with him usually now a couple times a week for the last couple of weeks when he comes and hangs out in one of the trees catty corner to our backyard. he’s super friendly though doesn’t come very close although he does come down the tree pretty far and chitchats with us which is pretty cute.

I haven’t been doing well mentally this past week, but I still really wanted to participate in this event. Photography is one of my biggest interests, and I knew I’d feel worse if I didn’t at least try to find something to photograph. I was prepared to just snap a pic of one of the neighbourhood geese (risking my life in the process probably 😭) or a squirrel or something, but I ended up going to the park with my mom today. It was a beautiful day, and I wanted to enjoy it since the next 4 days are gonna be rainy.

This guy landed on me while I was waiting on my mom. I’ve never seen this kind of butterfly before. I’m pretty sure he thought I was a flower because of how colourful my shirt was (+ it has flowers on it). 😅 I’m very grateful I had been carrying my name card around in my hand instead of in my pocket, because he probably would’ve flown away while I was trying to get it! Trying to take pictures without jostling him was still a challenge, though lol

Everyone’s photos are so beautiful ☺️ I went on a walk to a creek and I’ve decided to show a bit of our native life… it’s pondering…

one of my favourite things about this time of year is the rainy weather and the calmness that comes with it. i took lots of nature photos on walks i took this week, but part of me was holding out hope to see if it'd rain soon. after a week of waiting, it finally rained this morning and i got to see one of my favourite critters that always come out when it rains ;u; i love snails and this little guy was so darn cute!!! i caught a photo of it just as it was starting to climb down the leaf it was on. i did my best not to disturb the snail, but it hid itself away into it's shell when i set my name card down to snap a photo of it. thanks for your help and for spending some time with me today snail!

So I was going to drive around looking for landscape shots this afternoon, but when I went outside this morning, I almost stepped on this little guy. It was like he was begging for a photoshoot, so I grabbed a notebook for the namecard and we had a little session. I couldn't get too close, cuz he kept hopping away, but zoom works fine, haha.
