"Us nonuplets" points to it being the potions themselves, but more importantly (and this also applies to the other puzzles), having three attempts means that both could have been tried. For #28, someone might have said Louie because the gorillas are pretty large in the game even though elephants are the largest animals that have AC villagers based on them, which was the intent of the clue. We can't give it to guesses that may kind of make sense because it would be impossible to draw the line there. For #8, we wouldn't have accepted galaxy egg even though it made sense because there were three attempts to try other things, but we decided to allow more guesses when no one got it at first.

For 8 I thought about a squirrel nest but totally forgot about Ione .
16. I was on a good path with the sentient fruits, had the names but didn't know what to do with them.
19. Was looking for ice cream or slushies but not in gamers' lounge
25. Knotgrass, leeches, and Victoria sponge. I was on that thread but didn't open the spoiler!!!! *pulling hair*
27. spindly and striped, I knew it! I was there! Never saw it, still not seeing it...where it is?

29. NOW THAT'S FUNNY! After complaining I wasn't good at Mirrors and saying I would NOT do it, I tried it out of boredom and got it? Seriously?

Anyway, that was fun... but I'm still mad at those I missed when I was so close!

can someone pls explain to me how the clue for #25 leads to that particular post in the Hogwarts Legacy thread? I don't know much of anything abt Harry Potter so that may be why I don't understand.

The use of leeches in the Polyjuice Potion was chosen by J. K. Rowling to represent "[sucking] the essence out of one and into the other"

Also, the pic that the egg was with was a potion making place and there was a cake there (Victoria sponge a type of British sponge cake)
Knotgrass is used to make polyjuice potion.

Nah I gotta take a break from crying so I can publicly air out my shame and regret:

4- I wasted all my guesses on the bird banner (Mick, birds) and the celeste chick plushes because "why would inanimate objects like potions have friends???" AGHGHDFGHDFGHDFGHDFGH
12- I submitted 16.3 as one of my guesses but didn't add the 3 at the front and thought rounding to one decimal was how it fit 3 digits ASDFJKLJKL;SDJKL;DFS I would have rather have been way off
16- TANGY. RUINED. EVERYTHING.
29- Magikarp was one of my guesses and they're from the same gen, so I sort of got close... right? RIGHT?

But woooo I got two first eggs- in the same batch to boot!

I can talk about this one more since I wrote it! That did cross my mind, which was why I ended up wording it as "fruit found on your island." Maybe some people would have also counted the sort-of-fruit name (not the same spelling) of Cheri, but at least 3 guesses were allowed to try both versions.

Oh no! Egg 12 I got the tree price one, but I interpreted the AND statement to mean to add the values instead of concatenation, so I added 3+16.333333333 to submit 19 instead of 316…
