This is actually what we did do for the majority of our staff favourite events 2020-2023. Even though we emphasised each time that we expanded the number of winners in some rounds to accommodate duplicates people would still complain about seeing duplicate names. This is why we went with unique winners this time.Just a little side note for the unique winner system: I think a system with a set amount of unique winners would be good. If user XY wins multiple events it could still be recognized: 5 winners instead of 4. This way the hard work and amazing art would be honored and we still would have the same amount of unique winners!
This wasn't exactly a rule; it was just the outcome. We were the only staff members who expressed any interest in working on the LNY event."only hosting staff members choose ONE winner each" rule
Huge congrats to all the winners!!!
Choosing staff faves is always hard and it was especially difficult to narrow it down to only 1 vote for each event. Let's just say my initial shortlists were...not very short at all. I cannot emphasize enough how truly talented you all are!
I was really glad to see this event pop up and jumped at the chance to be a part of it. Although I don't personally celebrate Lunar New Year, I adore it. There are so many beautiful traditions and I love the story of the zodiac animals! Thank you Fruits Basket for teaching me about it!
Whether you celebrate Lunar New Year in real life or not, I hope you enjoyed celebrating it here with us. Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous year ahead!
See you at the next event! Is it really only a week away?
