"Now, let's analyze this rap song called "Scooby Gang" for seemingly no reason at all.
In the beginning when Shaggy is singing, he talks about "shooting the breeze," but what Shaggy really means by this is that he's looking for companionship. Unfortunately for him, most people are turned away by the fact that he eats way too much and doesn't have the best of manners. Next, we get to the part of the song where Shaggy mentions several times that he wants to get "zooted" on "pasta." Shaggy is actually talking about drugs here, as since he cannot find companionship, his next option is to turn to drugs. Lastly, Shaggy raps a lot about the "Scooby Gang," but the sad reality is that Shaggy's "Gang" left him a long time ago and split up in order for everyone to pursue their own lives. Filled with regret and unable to let go of past ties, Shaggy still continues to rap, and also eats Scooby Snacks, pretending as though Scooby is still feeding him, when in fact the dog known as Scooby-Doo died over a decade ago due to old age. And what do you call an old, overweight guy who can't face reality nor stop eating dog snacks for every meal of the day? A bum. A complete and total bum. What a ****** up life."
