I haven't played any of the older AC games besides Pocket Camp, but it's easy to see that the dialogue in New Horizons definitely needs some more work. :\ Right now, it's just good enough to get by with, but it could for sure be much better...
Oh gosh I really hate that. Since I made my 2nd character my villagers keep asking me about what their favorite hobbies or whatever they are and what they have been doing! Its even worse! They use to relay to me everything I'd done the previous day.
Since my wife created a character, they now tell me what she did the previous day. >..<
I would love to see Nintendo add new dialogue, but it's a lot more work than hairstyles. They would need to write the dialogue for each type and translate it into every single language the game is available in. Not saying it's not doable, just that hairstyles pretty much just need one model that comes in all the colors. And I'm not sure how they sell the new dialogue in an update, since calling it "improved dialogue" would make it seem like the dialogue was lacking previously.Well I'm just saying why isn't it Nintendo is not listening? I mean they did listen to bring back hair styles yet for whatever reason they don't seem too bothered about improving the dialogue.
Imo I feel like the issue with dialogue is more discussed on TBT than other places. More hairstyles was an idea that I saw everyone on Reddit, TBT, and Twitter discuss.Well I'm just saying why isn't it Nintendo is not listening? I mean they did listen to bring back hair styles yet for whatever reason they don't seem too bothered about improving the dialogue.
Don't misunderstand its not like there is anything wrong with what they said but when you have to hear it like 50 times it gets repetitive. Thats all I'm saying that is the issue. As someone else said, there's a big difference between adding new hairstyles and adding new dialogue.
First off, Nintendo added more inclusive hairstyles because people were complaining that they didn't feel properly represented. This is a real world problem, so it was addressed.
Nobody is getting offended because our virtual villagers aren't giving us enough conversation variety. That's not a real world problem.
Big difference.
Oh I get it, no worries. Would I like more dialogue? Sure. Will we get new dialogue? My money would be on them seeing the complaints about NH and just improving the next generation AC game.Don't misunderstand its not like there is anything wrong with what they said but when you have to hear it like 50 times it gets repetitive. I will say New Horizons did a lot of other stuff really great like the graphics are great and the idea that we can make our islands the way we want is very impressive, but when we are talking about "improving" villagers this game really doesn't do a good job of that when especially you compare to how the dialogue was in old AC games. What I mean is that they took a step forward with the rest of the game but a step backwards with the villagers dialogue.Oh I get it, no worries. Would I like more dialogue? Sure. Will we get new dialogue? My money would be on them seeing the complaints about NH and just improving the next generation AC game.
Dobbie told me today, like he did yesterday and three times the day before - that he was worried that he’d left his stove on at home...
Wolfgang must have been tuned into Dobbies anxious energy because he was also worried that he’d left his stove on at home! At least Wolfgang has a stove to worry about I suppose
The dialogue in this game is pretty awful to be honest.
Considering how the game is selling very well and its almost beating Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Nintendo really needs to improve on this game in 2021 if they really want to keep it "Fresh" and "New". Maybe that will bring back some of the people who quit on this game. I know the first friend I made on this game quit back in September 2020 because he told me that the game was just "too boring and repetitive"Yeah, translation is a lot of work but nintendo is rich enough to afford it lmao cmon
