To those of you who got the paid DLC... Did you buy it or did you get it via Nintendo Switch Online?

I got it standalone. There's two of us on the family plan that play ACNH, but while it's a good deal the first year, after that I'd be forced to maintain the subscription or buy it separately and then it becomes not a deal at all.

standalone as i don't really have much interest in n64/genesis games (now if they were gamecube and dreamcast games... 👀 ) + the fact it lapses when the membership lapses is pretty lame so i'd rather just outright own it lol

I bought it directly. I'm not interested in the expansion (yet) but I also wanted to keep it if I ever decided to drop the NSO membership.

i just bought it standalone - i bought nso not long ago, plus i have zero interest in any of the other things the expansion provides so it's just a waste of money for me

Bought it separately so I only had to pay $32 once and it’s mine forever even if I cancel my online subscription one day. I already pay $45 a year for a Family Plan it would cost $100 a year if I were to upgrade it which wasn’t worth it to me.

i haven't bought it yet and probably won't until release day (or the day before since it releases 1AM here), but i plan to buy it standalone. the price of the expansion pack would be exorbitant even if i had any interest in playing the game titles they've released alongside it. i'd rather own the DLC outright.

I won’t be purchasing until closer to release date but I will buying DLC out right. I have no desire to give Nintendo any more money than necessary.

I'm not opposed to buying the expansion pack to try out the retro games, but I don't foresee myself preferring to do that over the current games/coming games, so I bought the DLC outright. 😊

There are already so many games coming that I'm not going to have time for! 🌟

I bought the stand online version. I would not recommend the Expansion pass because its too expensive and I heard that if it runs out the next year you have to pay it again just to play Happy Home Paradise since its linked to it. So thats why I would recommend the stand alone version because its only $24.99 and its yours to keep forever and you don't have to worry about renewing it.

Standalone. I don't think it's worth it to pay for really bad N64 emulation (I've seen how it runs and it gave me flashbacks of how Project64 ran games back in the mid 2000s, when it was still "new"), and I already have other means to play Mega Drive games (and I honestly don't even want to play many MD games anymore, as I already played everything I wanted from it).

I just hope Nintendo can fix the emulation on the N64 because if charging ridiculous prices for a very limited selection of games wasn't enough, delivering such amateurish-level product is totally unacceptable and you guys should be better compensated for the money you're spending.

Well, they give you a discount if you already have a membership for this year. Mine came out to $27 because I had some coins from buying Metroid Dread and some other games. I can always buy the DLC if I want to end my subscription. But yeah, I've seen how poor Zelda: OOT runs. I haven't tried it out yet because I already own the superior remastered version on the 3DS. I also have Super Mario 64 in the 3D Mario All-Stars bundle on Switch. The game I did try, Yoshi's Story, ran flawlessly though.

I share a family account with myself 😬
So I bought the regular standalone plan. I don’t play much other game, so I wouldn’t be using the expansion either. It makes sense for me.

When I get it, it will be separate. The NSO Expansion Pack is a complete rip-off and I refuse to pay for it. Plus, it's always better to own something permanently rather than through a subscription.

I picked it up standalone. I'm not fond of the "You can access this library of games as long as you keep subscribing" moniker that's been floating around for a good while now. I want to be able to play it whenever I want without strings attached and I know over time I'd probably end up paying far more than what it's worth.

I bought the stand alone. I was going to get the expansion pass since the dlc plus the next years membership is only $5 cheaper until I found out that if you ever cancel the expansion pass and go back to the normal membership you lose the dlc.

I'm getting the standalone expansion. I don't like the idea of renting it. I would rather have it because I know I will play it a lot.

I bought the DLC outright on my main account. I also have the Family Plan for NSO and just got the Expansion Pack. I have my three accounts plus each of my brothers' accounts on my Family Plan, and I wanted them to have access to the N64 and Sega Genesis games if they want to play them. Also, my oldest brother plays AC: NH and other brother may start playing it eventually. This way, they can play the DLC, too, if they want.

My situation is kind of unique in that I have three accounts and play AC: NH under my secondary account. I have a Switch Lite that I loaned to my brother and set that to primary so he could try some of my games. I can't play my digital copy of AC: NH on my main Switch right now because it's no longer set as the primary Switch, so I use my physical copy. I wouldn't be able to access the DLC under my secondary account on my main Switch, so I'm glad I can play it under the NSO + Expansion Pack. Otherwise, I'd have to buy a second copy. So, getting the Expansion Pack for NSO saved me money.

I don't really think the Expansion Pack for NSO is worth it right now, but I'm hoping they add more games. Maybe they'll even add more DLC or other bonuses for subscribers. The bad thing, I've been subscribed to NSO since the beginning and paying for a Family Plan but can't even use it to play online because of my Internet settings. We're supposed to be getting new Internet which should fix the issue, but I don't know when it will become available.
