I have made this topic to discuss where or what your town name originated from.

I called my town London due to the real place being a popular, yet expensive place to live.
I also named it London as I have set a goal to try and aim to make 500,000,000 Bells and have my ACNL character's bank account balance equal to my Animal Crossing Let's Go to the City character's which also amounted to over 500,000,000 Bells.

Well, the town of Snowlake came from what I thought about. I've seen many lakes in my 11 years, and they're all beautiful. When the sunset comes down on a lake or ocean, it's simply majestic. Snow came from what would be nice to see coming down on those lakes with sunsets. Light little specks of snow falling as the sun goes down. I imagined it being very pretty. My goal is to have Perfect Town as soon as possible and make my town a lovely place to go.

My town is named after my cat Boo. Because she was on my lap while I was trying to come up with a name, hence "Booville."

Mine is Nikoro.

Nico nico = Japanese sound for smiling
Kokoro = Japanese word for "heart"

So someone who can speak Japanese would equate it to "Smiling Heart". :)

Cafe originated from when I made this town in a Cafe lol.
So I decided to set up my house like a cafe anyway ~

I remember my town names all came from my comics I made as a 4th grader.
In City Folk, I called my town "Lakisto", Because there were a lot of frogs. Seriously, there were like 4 in that town. In the little comics I made, Lakisto was made up of mostly frogs and other little animals, Like mice and rabbits.
In Wild World, I named my town "Harins". This time the name of the town was based on this huge city with a statue of a hare and a bird.

'Olivine'

From Pokemon region Johto. Olivine is a seaside town with a lighthouse. The gym leader is called Jasmine.

I'm a Pokemon fan, who's name is actually Jasmine, and I built a lighthouse in the bottom right corner of my town. Pretty damn perfect.

It couldn't be more perfect. Jasmine is pretty boss too.

What an interesting thread! I named my town Redwall after the books by Brian Jacques because his books are about anthropomorphic animals. I thought it was fitting.

Hanamura - no reference. I strung two words together (flower + the suffix for 'village') on the spot just so I could start playing.

Konohana - it's the name of one of the towns in Harvest Moon: A Tale of Two Towns.

Imagine an Animal Crossing/Harvest Moon crossover? :D

I really loved playing Harvest Moon: Friend's of Mineral Town for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance and I really wished that Natsume would re-release it on Nintendo DS.

My town is based on the county of Norfolk and also Norwich city. I mixed Nor and Shire together and it sounded good to me, I'm happy with it.

AC and HM are already quite similar, in a way: you spend your day doing chores of some description; instead of planting vegetables you're planting flowers; and you're still taking care of animals - just in a different way!

I loved FoMT (and MFoMT) on GBA and played most of the DS titles - although the games set on the islands were dreadful IMO. Harvest Moon DS and Harvest Moon DS Cute are the closest in gameplay to the GBA titles.

I do actually mean an actual linked project between Nintendo and Natsume.

I miss Harvest Moon! I have so many of the games though xD like 8 different copies

But I usually name my Animal Crossing town after a real place and I decided to change it up with New Leaf. At the time it was about to come out, I had been going through my old games and replayed Majora's Mask.

So, that's how Majora became the mayor of Termina! But that would never happen in the game xP
