Watching the gameplay during this made me fall head over heels for it. During the trailer I was skeptical, but it honestly looks like so much fun! March can't come quick enough

I hope in the next direct they talk about new villagers and shops and all the other things that made animal crossing great. I love what they are doing now, but some of the old features need to come back. I really hope we can craft stuff on the scale of PwPs. The dream suite needs a comeback. There is a lot that they haven't showed. I don't expect them to show it this early, so its all good. Just gonna need a lot more info.

tl;dr its underwhelming, but understandable. The hype is still ongoing and I'm waiting for the next treehouse/direct.

I'm so disappointed by the map size. Maybe it was just their layout but it looks like the same size as new Leaf possibly smaller as their a beach on 3 sides now.

I was wondering the same. But as they walked around, the cursor on the map didn't look like it was really leaving one area. Maybe the world is bigger. Maybe the map isn't best to get the scale of it? idk... just gotta wait and see.

My thoughts exactly. I can't see it any other way. I was thinking maybe you get more villagers and become an actual village after you fix up the island a bit. Kinda like a town ordinance or something.

Getting rid of free-roaming multiplayer completely ruins the game for me

The multiplayer is just for local co-op, you can still play through multiple Nintendo Switches and online.

.... no one lives in tents? In the trailer it literally shows villager houses and the main character's house...?
And I'm sure shops and museum get added later as you build up your town.
I wasn't happy about this game but after the treehouse I'm way more optimistic. I just need confirmation that holiday's return.

The whole party leader thing yes, but I doubt that on online multiplayer you will be tied to that person. That was just on co-op, because there's only one screen. I assume you can still run around and do whatever.

holy crap... if online was the same as playing on one screen was a thing I 'd lose it. That's not good. I don't care enough about people stealing from me than that. I hope that is not the case. I'm gonna assume that was for co-op on a single Switch and online Multiplayer will have free roam

I can't imagine 8 people on one screen like that.
